It took them more than two hours of travel by road through many streams and ravines to reach the bamboo forest by the Quang River. The bamboo here is both large and long, making it easy to supply to facilities that process bamboo into toothpicks and incense. After harvesting, it has to be tied into small rafts to float down the stream back to the village.
