Expelled from the Party Mr. Tran Bac Ha, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIDV Bank

The announcement of the Central Inspection Commission clearly stated that it will consider and discipline the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and related individuals for violations and shortcomings that were concluded at the 26th session of the Central Inspection Commission.

Considering the content, nature, level, and consequences of the violation; based on the Party's regulations on disciplinary action against violating Party organizations and Party members, the Central Inspection Commission decides:

- Disciplinary action by expelling from the Party Mr. Tran Bac Ha, former Party Secretary, former Chairman of the Board of Directors;

Remove from all Party positions Mr. Doan Anh Sang, former member of the Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy General Director;

Warning for Mr. Tran Luc Lang, Member of the Party Standing Committee, Deputy General Director of BIDV.

- Request the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc to discipline the Standing Committee of the BIDV Party Committee.

Previously, in the announcement of the 26th meeting, the Central Inspection Committee stated that Mr. Tran Bac Ha, as former Party Secretary and former Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of BIDV, must bear primary responsibility for the violations and shortcomings of the Party Committee Standing Committee for the 2010-2015 and 2015-2020 terms.

Mr. Ha violated the principle of democratic centralism, working regulations, showed signs of imposition and lack of democracy in direction and management; violated the resolution of the Party Committee Standing Committee on the obligations and responsibilities of those holding positions in the BIDV system; violated the process, procedures, authority, and regulations on credit in approving policies and deciding on a number of loans, guarantees, investments, and debt management, including approving a loan policy of VND 4,700 billion for 12 companies related to the case that occurred at the Construction Bank.

The Central Inspection Committee emphasized that Mr. Tran Bac Ha's violations were very serious, negatively affecting the reputation of the Party organization and BIDV Bank, causing outrage in society to the point of requiring consideration and disciplinary action.
