The integrated portal supports child protection and care efforts by developing a database system to provide information, data, and reports on child protection and care online.
This portal can meet the information processing and retrieval needs of those working in child protection and child rights, as well as related organizations and individuals. Specifically, it implements software for managing, sharing, and providing information on children in special circumstances to management officials at all levels, from central to local, and to the public and the community.
Mr. Dang Hoa Nam, Director of the Department of Child Protection and Care, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, stated: “Currently, processing information online is no longer unfamiliar, while in many places we still rely too much on paper documents, wasting too much time and effort without fully utilizing information technology and computer and telephone networks. Currently, child protection and care requires the collection of information, statistics, and surveys on a large scale, from the community and from various ministries and agencies. Therefore, having such an information portal would increase convenience and interaction, connecting us to exchange information in the field of child protection and care, and the realization of children's rights.”
In 2015, the Department of Child Protection and Care continued to develop a software system for managing child information at the grassroots level and a comprehensive database from the central to local levels, integrating it into the electronic portal. Training was also provided to child protection and care officials at the district level on its use, gradually contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management in child protection and care nationwide.
