Khaisilk silk scarves and the story of Vietnamese football belief

From the story of Khaisilk brand deceiving consumers for nearly 30 years, people think about football!

The public wonders if fans are ever enjoying fake matches with the brand "made in V.League"?

Khaisilk's biggest loss is not only its brand but also its widespread impact on the market when consumers' trust in "Made in Vietnam" products is questioned.

How many Vietnamese brands are truly Vietnamese, no one knows for sure. Like the story of the scarf that was discovered, if it weren’t for the carelessness of the staff… cutting the label, how long would consumers continue to be fooled?

After admitting and apologizing to customers, answering a newspaper, the head of Khaisilk also said a piece of information that startled many people: Vietnam's silk industry has been developing quite slowly for a long time. Even in Van Phuc silk village (Ha Dong), he himself had difficulty distinguishing between Chinese and Vietnamese goods. And to buy genuine Vietnamese products, he himself was not sure.

Theo chia sẻ của Facebook Dangnhuquynh, chiếc khăn lụa mua tại cửa hàng Khaisilk Hà Nội có 2 nhãn với 2 xuất xứ từ Khaisilk và từ Trung Quốc.
A silk scarf bought at Khaisilk Hanoi store with 2 labels was shared on social networks.

In Vietnam, how many Chinese products are disguised as “Made in Vietnam” like Khaisilk that are accepted by the market? Even the owner of Khaisilk cannot distinguish between real and fake products, so perhaps consumers should choose the safe solution of using foreign goods or accepting fake goods, but absolutely cannot be hypnotized by products that are branded as Vietnamese but cannot be verified.

Vietnamese brands are present in all fields, including football. And V.League is the most typical example of a “Made in Vietnam” product, which is not only the number 1 domestic tournament but also a playground where one can see the picture and reality of Vietnamese football. V.League lacks spectators, partly because viewers cannot distinguish between truth and falsehood in each match. Because even in matches that are clearly smelly, the question always comes up as “where is the evidence?”.

The audience’s suspicion of V.League is not something they inferred, but it has actually happened. From match-fixing, referees taking bribes, match-fixing, asking for and giving points in the “3-go-3-back” style… and even the story of some bosses using football tournaments to pursue other purposes, all of it exists. Therefore, even though V.League is currently improving and trying everything to prove that it is a “high-quality Vietnamese product”, it is still doubted by fans.

Khaisilk will certainly take a long time to recover, and may not be able to recover because it has attached the word “fraud” to the consumer psychology. Just like V.League, when the negatives from the past still haunt fans, regaining trust will be a long process.
