Urgently repair landslide irrigation works
(Baonghean.vn) - Storm No. 2 has caused quite serious damage to irrigation works in the province. Currently, the government and people are actively working to fix it.
Up to this point, over 8,700 meters of canals have been eroded and buried, 400 meters of embankments have been eroded, 8 spillways have been eroded, 3 spillways have been damaged, 7 small dams have been eroded, and more than 100 water wheels have been washed away...
At the same time, some internal road systems and many internal culverts were washed away in mountainous districts. In particular, the solidified canal system was severely damaged, concentrated in Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Quy Chau, and Que Phong districts.

Mr. Pham Huu Van - Deputy Head of the Provincial Irrigation Department said: Immediately after the storm, localities mobilized forces to repair irrigation works.
Tuong Duong district has mobilized hundreds of workers to temporarily repair the irrigation spillway of Yen Hoa commune, and nearly 1 km of buried canals in Tam Thai, Nga My, and Tam Hop communes have been cleared.
Con Cuong district mobilized communes to temporarily fix 4 irrigation spillways in Thach Ngan and Lang Khe communes, and cleared about 300 m of buried canals in Mon Son and Luc Da.
In severely damaged areas, localities have organized temporary canals to drain flooded rice fields and temporarily repair irrigation and traffic spillways. At the same time, there are plans to ensure the safety of reservoirs, irrigation dams, irrigation works under construction, or works that are being repaired.
