The Ministry of Finance has just issued a document requesting the General Director of the State Treasury to urgently inspect, clarify and strictly handle information about a number of State Treasury officials in Nam Dinh city - Nam Dinh province going to the pagoda during working hours.

On February 28, the Ministry of Finance sent a document to the General Director of the State Treasury informing the direction of Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung requesting the General Director of the State Treasury to urgently inspect, clarify and strictly handle information about a number of civil servants of the State Treasury of Nam Dinh city - Nam Dinh province going to the pagoda during working hours.

The official dispatch of the Ministry of Finance stated that on February 27, 2018, the VTV1 television news program at 7 p.m. reported that a number of State Treasury officials of Nam Dinh city - Nam Dinh province went to the pagoda during working hours.

According to the Ministry of Finance, civil servants attending religious ceremonies during working hours is a serious violation of the Prime Minister's instructions and the Minister of Finance's instructions.

To strictly implement the Prime Minister's direction and maintain discipline and administrative discipline, the Minister of Finance requested the General Director of the State Treasury to urgently inspect, clarify and strictly handle the above-mentioned units and individuals who have committed violations in accordance with regulations, and report to the Minister of Finance before 11:00 a.m. on February 28.

At the same time, coordinate with the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee and relevant functional agencies of the province to handle Party disciplinary actions against units and individuals with violations.

"Direct units of the State Treasury system to strictly implement Official Dispatch No. 240/CD-TTg dated February 21, 2018 of the Prime Minister and Notice No. 173/TB-BTC dated February 22, 2018 of the Minister of Finance on the implementation of assigned tasks after the Tet holiday," the Ministry of Finance requested.

Last year, the Minister of Industry and Trade also had to issue a disciplinary decision against a civil servant of the Export Support Center (a public service unit under the Trade Promotion Agency) who was identified as having committedgo to the templeduring working hours.

Specifically, Mr. Bui Quang Hung, Director of the Export Support Center under the Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade, was disciplined with a salary reduction.
