Affirming the 100,000 billion package for high-tech agricultural production

Responding to the press at the regular Government Press Conference in February on the afternoon of March 1, Minister and Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung clarified information related to the VND100,000 billion credit package for high-tech agricultural production.

This support package is not the same as the 30,000 billion VND housing credit package, but the State Bank has assigned the task to commercial banks to allocate capital for lending to high-tech agricultural production enterprises with interest rates 0.5-1.5% lower than the normal lending interest rate for enterprises to invest.

Minister Mai Tien Dung added that to accelerate investment in high-tech agriculture, the Government's policy is to socialize infrastructure investment, capital, and credit investment. The Government is also considering proposing that the National Assembly amend a number of decrees on land accumulation.

Instead of fragmented production, we will focus on land consolidation and long-term land allocation for people to use the land most effectively. Localities will be assigned the task of leasing land from people to businesses for investment in order to use land effectively, while restructuring the labor force in rural areas.

“The Government has requested relevant ministries and sectors to have specific plans and solutions to promote the development of high-tech agriculture; not to let the Government's policy "hang forever", Minister Mai Tien Dung emphasized.
