Affirming Nghe An as a potential investment environment for investors from Japan
(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the visit and work of the high-ranking delegation of Nghe An province in Japan, on the afternoon of September 19, in Tokyo, Japan, Nghe An province coordinated with the ASEAN-Japan Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Center to organize a conference to promote investment in Nghe An province.

Attending the conference were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong; Mr. Masataka Fujita - Secretary General of the ASEAN - Japan Center.
On the provincial side, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.

Opening the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh expressed his pleasure to welcome the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong and the Secretary General of the ASEAN-Japan Center along with Japanese investors to attend the conference. The Provincial Party Secretary briefly introduced the land, culture, people and especially emphasized the investment and business environment and investment cooperation opportunities in Nghe An province, the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh.
Regarding the investment cooperation between Nghe An and Japan, up to now, there have been 9 projects with Japanese investment capital in Nghe An province with a total investment capital of 1.078 billion USD. Japan has supported 44 ODA projects in Nghe An, with a total investment of over 6,172,000 billion VND. Export turnover to Japan increased year after year.
In the field of Education and Training, in 2016 and 2017, over 800 Nghe An students studied abroad in Japan, of which 89 students went on scholarships. Every year, Nghe An province has a large number of workers working under contracts in Japan.

At the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Dai emphasized the advantages of Nghe An province to Japanese investors.

Speaking at the conference, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong and Mr. Masataka Fujita, Secretary General of the ASEAN-Japan Center, informed about the situation and trends of Japanese enterprises and investors in the face of recent global economic fluctuations, including the trade war between the US and China; and about the investment trends of Japanese enterprises abroad, including Vietnam.
Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong also hopes that Japanese businesses and investors will pay attention to Nghe An province, because Nghe An is currently a land of great potential, with many advantages for investors, not only from Japan but also from other countries around the world.

After the conference, provincial leaders held a workshop to exchange information with Japanese businesses and investors, answering questions of concern to businesses and investors.
