Affirm and protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland

Nghe An Newspaper reporter interviewed comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee about this activity in Nghe An province.

PV:In 3 years of implementing propaganda work, Nghe An has organized 7 exhibitions of maps and documents "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" in localities in the province. How do you evaluate these activities?

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa:Since May 2015, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in coordination with the People's Committee of Nghe An province has organized for the first time the exhibition of maps and documents "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" in the province. At the end of the exhibition, the Ministry of Information and Communications presented the set of maps and artifacts to the People's Committee of Nghe An province for exhibition, serving the propaganda work in the locality.

With that valuable document, from 2016 to present, the Provincial People's Committee has organized many exhibitions in localities in the province such as: Cua Lo Town, Quynh Luu, Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, Dien Chau districts...

The exhibitions affirming the sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands in localities, although only taking place for a short time, attracted thousands of visitors and created a special impression.

The success of the exhibitions over the past three years has marked an important milestone in the propaganda work on Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; providing cadres, soldiers, and Vietnamese people at home and abroad with historical evidence and solid, authentic legal bases, affirming Vietnam's indisputable sovereignty over these two archipelagos; at the same time, encouraging patriotism and the spirit of fighting to protect national sovereignty over seas and islands among the public.

The exhibition not only contributes to arousing the sense of self-reliance and national pride but also builds solid legal foundations and grounds for each Nghe An citizen to be more confident in standing side by side with the people of the whole country in the fight to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Through the exhibition, it helps cadres, soldiers and people understand the truth about the current situation in the East Sea, as well as understand the legitimate wishes and aspirations of the Party, State and people in maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea for national development.

PV:Could you share more with Nghe An Newspaper readers about the notable contents at the "Exhibition of maps and documents "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence"?

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa:The exhibition of maps and documents "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence", displays hundreds of documents, texts, artifacts, publications and nearly 150 maps collected from previously published sources by domestic and international researchers and scholars such as: Versions of Han - Nom documents, Vietnamese and French documents issued by the Vietnamese feudal court and the French government in Indochina from the 17th century to the early 20th century, affirming the process of establishing, implementing and protecting Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

In particular, the Nguyen Dynasty's documents (from Gia Long to Bao Dai) issued directly related to the issue of exploitation, management, establishment and enforcement of sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

Versions of administrative documents issued by the Republic of Vietnam government in South Vietnam during the period 1954 - 1975 continued to affirm the process of administrative management, enforcement and protection of Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

The versions of administrative documents issued by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from 1975 to present continue to affirm the enforcement and protection of Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos and other seas and islands belonging to Vietnam's territory.

The exhibition also displays a collection of maps proving Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos published by Vietnam and the West from the 17th century to the present.

The publication of historical and legal documents and evidence affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos aims to strengthen propaganda, raise awareness, responsibility and actions of cadres, soldiers and people in firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

From there, there are practical actions, joining hands to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the homeland. This is shown through movements and programs of activities towards Hoang Sa and Truong Sa such as: Love for Hoang Sa and Truong Sa; millions of hearts towards the sea and islands of the homeland,...

PV:To continue organizing exhibitions to bring information about "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" to the masses, what are the province's implementation plans, sir?

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa:Through 7 successful exhibitions, there have been very important contributions from press agencies. Thereby, promoting patriotism, arousing national pride, raising awareness of the struggle to protect and preserve the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland among all classes of people, creating sympathy and support from friends and international public opinion.

This activity is extremely important and necessary, and needs to be carried out regularly and for a long time. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Information and Communications to coordinate with units, departments and branches to deploy and unify the exhibition content, and provide information to the press to promote activities before, during and after the exhibition so that people can know.

The Department of Information and Communications also coordinates with localities where the exhibition is held to strengthen propaganda work on district-level radio and television stations, grassroots loudspeaker systems and mobile propaganda vehicles...

During the exhibition, the organizing committee always arranges staff to be on duty, guide and explain to the visiting groups. The reception and service of visitors are thoughtful and enthusiastic, ensuring absolute safety and order.

Along with continuing to organize many exhibitions, the organizing committee requests that press agencies accompany, have many news and articles reflecting on the exhibition as well as propaganda activities about the sea and islands, contributing to promoting propaganda work to fight to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

With a systematic organization, the exhibition "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" is a specific, vivid and practical activity in the protection of Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.
