According to the admiral, this center is the clearest demonstration of the partnership between the United States and Vietnam, demonstrating a shared commitment to strengthening military relations, especially in the areas of maritime security, law enforcement, and search and rescue efforts.

Admiral Harris stressed: "Maritime security is an area that affects us all and is something we cannot take for granted. These fine facilities are a testament to the hard work and dedication of so many people to enhance our collective ability to address maritime security challenges."

The establishment of a Coast Guard ship repair and maintenance center enables Vietnam to troubleshoot and upgrade its ships, including large ships like the CSB 7011 with a full displacement of up to 4,300 tons.

The CSB 7011 ship is nearly 90m long, has a maximum width of 14m, a side height of about 6.25m, a draft of about 4.5m, a total tonnage of about 2,900 tons, a full load displacement of over 4,300 tons, a maximum speed of 13.5 nautical miles/h, a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles, a continuous operating time at sea of ​​up to 60 days and nights, and can withstand waves and winds of level 9 - 11.

Coast Guard ship CSB 7011 is designed for the task of transporting oil and providing fuel, fresh water, food, technical and logistical supplies for ships operating at sea as well as for islands and platforms.

The ship's capacity to transport and supply fuel and fresh water is up to 2000m3 of oil and 500m3 of fresh water. Regarding the capacity to transport and supply logistics: dry goods about 300 tons, frozen goods about 30 tons; vegetables and fruits of all kinds about 80 tons.

In addition, the ship is also equipped with a system of examination rooms, first aid and treatment rooms to serve military medical work and a technical repair workshop to ensure small and medium technical repair services.

In addition, the CSB 7011 ship also has the task of supporting offshore fishermen to stay at sea for long periods (providing oil, fresh water, necessities and minor repairs); participating in coordinated patrols, search and rescue, environmental protection, national security and defense of islands and other tasks when required.
