Inauguration of the restoration and embellishment project of Cong Temple relic

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 17, in Quynh Hung commune, the People's Committee of the commune coordinated with the Management Board of Cong Temple relic to organize the inauguration ceremony of the project to restore and embellish the historical - cultural relic of Cong Temple.

Attending the event were Comrade Vo Hong Thang, Major General - Director of the Economic Department of the Ministry of National Defense; Colonel Dinh Ngoc Van, Commander of Nghe An Border Guard and leaders of units of the Ministry of National Defense; leaders of Quynh Luu district and cadres and people of Quynh Hung commune.

Cong Temple was built in 1471 in the ancient village of Tien Yen, now in Hamlet 8, Quynh Hung Commune. This is a historical and cultural work, the result of the local people creating to worship and commemorate those who have contributed to the people and the country. The gods worshiped at the temple are General Dinh Le, General Dinh Liet and 53 Immortals.

To preserve and promote the value of the relic, on September 18, 2014, the restoration and embellishment project of Cong Temple relic was started with the following items: Restoring the 5-compartment Lower Palace; restoring and embellishing the Middle Palace; renovating the Upper Palace; renovating Uncle Ho's shrine; building a new stele house; building a new Tac Mon; moving the guest house to the West and other auxiliary works with a total cost of more than 8 billion VND from sponsorship from benefactors and socialized sources.

After a period of construction, the project is now officially completed and put into use.
