Inauguration of the cultural project Uncle Ho Monument with the armed forces of Military Region 4

Throughout his revolutionary life, Uncle Ho visited Military Region 4 three times. Notably, on June 15, 1957, during his first visit to his homeland, Uncle Ho visited and talked with the officers and soldiers of Military Region 4. He gave "3 compliments, 4 criticisms and 5 admonitions". Over the past 64 years, his admonitions have become a guiding principle for action in the process of building, fighting and maturing of the Military Region 4.

With infinite gratitude to beloved Uncle Ho and to commemorate this special event, in 1978, the Command of Military Region 4 built the Monument "Uncle Ho with the Armed Forces of Military Region 4" using concrete and steel. In 2005, 6 reliefs made of green stone on a stylized lotus background were added in front of the Monument grounds. In 2013, the memorial site of Uncle Ho's visit to Military Region 4 on June 15, 1957 was recognized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province as a provincial historical relic.

The cultural work of Uncle Ho's Monument with the Military Region 4 has profound historical value and significance, a place that bears the deep emotional imprint of President Ho Chi Minh with the Military Region 4 through historical periods, is a place that attracts a large number of people to visit, study and becomes a place for spiritual and cultural activities for cadres, soldiers and people in the area.

To be worthy of Uncle Ho's great affection and contributions, with its cultural and historical value; in accordance with the wishes and earnest desires of generations of officers and soldiers of Military Region 4, the Military Region 4 Command has invested in renovating the campus, replacing the material of Uncle Ho's Monument from concrete to bronze, using socialized capital.

The project has two main items including: Uncle Ho Monument with Military Region 4's Armed Forces with a height of 7.9 m, in which the statue body is cast in one piece with a height of 5.1 m in bronze, total weight of about 4,500 kg; the statue pedestal is made of monolithic green stone with a height of 2.8 m.

On December 3, 2021, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a decision on the ranking of "Commemorative site of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Military Region 4 in Nghe An, June 15, 1957"is a national historical site.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Uncle Ho devoted his entire life to dedication, sacrifice, and boundless love for the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people. In that immense love, he always had deep affection, thoughtful care, and concern for his hometown Nghe An and the armed forces of Military Region 4.

During his two visits to his homeland, his talks and letters, he expressed his earnest expectations, along with his kind instructions and guidance to the cadres, party members, and people of Nghe An province, and the armed forces of Military Region 4. His instructions, affection, and special attention will forever be a priceless spiritual heritage, a source of encouragement and motivation for all cadres, party members, people, and the entire army to strive, strive, and rise up to build an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.

Reviewing the fact that Nghe An province has just successfully organized the 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho's second visit to his hometown and the inauguration of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at Kim Lien Relic Site (Nam Dan), comrade Nguyen Duc Trung affirmed: "The memorial site of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Military Region 4 in Nghe An" will become a red address,Together with the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site, President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, Ho Chi Minh Square, to preserve and promote Ho Chi Minh's heritage in his homeland, to spread and educate revolutionary traditions, Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style to the entire Party, the entire army and the people, especially the young generations today and tomorrow. Honored and proud to be the homeland of the great President Ho Chi Minh, Nghe An province sees more clearly its great responsibility to carry out his last words to the homeland during his lifetime.

At the Ceremony, the Museum of Military Region 4 was honored to receive the Certificate of Recognition of the National Historical Site "Commemorative site of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Military Region 4 in Nghe An (June 15, 1957)" and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the cultural work of Uncle Ho's Monument with the armed forces of Military Region 4.
