On January 26th, the Ministry of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the National Ministry of Education historical site (1951-1954) in Yen Nguyen, Chiem Hoa, Tuyen Quang.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan, Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Sang Vang, along with many generations of officials, teachers, students, and people of Tuyen Quang province, attended the event.

Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan stated that during the nine-year resistance war against French colonialism, central government agencies had to evacuate and relocate from Hanoi to rural areas. The Ministry of National Education moved to localities such as Ha Dong and Phu Tho, and from 1951 to 1954, the Ministry's headquarters were located in Khuon Tru village, Yen Nguyen commune, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province.

During this period, the main tasks of the Education sector were to organize teaching and learning during wartime; continue developing the mass education program, promote literacy and adult education; implement educational reforms; and redirect and develop higher and professional education.

Many important policies were issued to guide the educational tasks assigned by the Party and the Government.

From here, under the leadership of Minister Nguyen Van Huyen and his comrades Nguyen Khanh Toan, Nguy Nhu Kon Tum, Pham Trong Dang, Nguyen Cat Tuong, and Hoang Vi Nam, the officials of the Ministry and other units united, loved, and bonded with each other, under the protection of the people of Tuyen Quang's ethnic groups throughout the difficult years, regardless of sacrifice and hardship, dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to the cause of education.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan expressed his hope that today's generation of students will actively contribute to the further development of education, so that Vietnam can "stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the world" as President Ho Chi Minh envisioned.

On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to continue coordinating with other ministries and agencies to vigorously implement the "Building friendly schools, active students" movement in general education schools, with a focus on caring for, preserving, and promoting the value of historical relics nationwide, in order to strengthen moral education, historical education, and revolutionary traditions for generations of Vietnamese students and youth.

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan visited Tuyen Quang College.

The Ministry of National Education carried out the task of both building the organization and urgently implementing activities such as: establishing the adult literacy program, launching a nationwide campaign against illiteracy; and organizing the opening of the first school year after the revolution from primary schools to universities.
