Thanh Luong commune is a locality with a rich tradition of culture, history, studiousness and revolution. During the two resistance wars against France and the US, the commune had 128 martyrs, 5 Vietnamese heroic mothers, 69 wounded soldiers, 28 sick soldiers, and many people who contributed to the country.

Continuing the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking" of the homeland and the nation, in recent years, the locality has done a good job of "repaying gratitude" with many practical activities, such as organizing the War Invalids and Martyrs Day Commemoration Ceremony, taking care of martyrs' cemeteries, visiting and encouraging families of policy beneficiaries and those with revolutionary contributions...

The desire to build a large-scale martyrs' cemetery in the commune was included in the Resolution of Thanh Luong Commune Party Committee in 2020.
After a period of surveying, selecting construction sites, and designing the project, the commune established a Mobilization Committee, calling on cadres, people in the commune, children living far from home, units and businesses located in the area... to join hands in building this meaningful project, and at the same time established a Construction Committee, a Management Committee, a Supervision and Consulting Committee...

On November 11, 2022, the project was started. After more than 8 months of construction, the Thanh Luong Commune Martyrs' Cemetery project has basically been completed with many items: Memorial, 2 stele houses, martyrs' graves with 128 stone-covered graves, arranged in 2 symmetrical clusters, yard, gate, surrounding wall, reliefs, 2 flagpoles, lighting system, parking lot...
The investment cost is more than 4 billion VND, of which 400 million VND is the budget allocated by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

After completion, Thanh Luong commune martyr cemetery is considered one of the most spacious martyr cemeteries in Thanh Chuong district.
The project not only demonstrates the determination of local officials and people in the work of "repaying gratitude" and showing gratitude to heroic martyrs, but is also a place to visit, commemorate and educate about the local revolutionary tradition.
