Nghia Hanh commune is a merger of 3 communes Phu Son, Nghia Hanh and Tan Huong. With a natural area of ​​112km² and a population of over 22,000 people, Nghia Hanh is one of the most prominent communes in the province. On that basis, a new party committee was also formed with nearly 700 party members and 39 grassroots party organizations, creating political and organizational strength for the long-term development process.

After the merger, Nghia Hanh commune entered a development phase with a low starting point, affected by the pandemic, natural disasters and price fluctuations. The economy maintained a fairly high growth rate, with many important indicators exceeding the resolution targets. From a purely agricultural commune, Nghia Hanh has begun to shift its economic structure towards increasing added value: Developing the forest economy, forming farms and livestock farms in chains; applying scientific and technological advances in agricultural production; expanding aquaculture, making effective use of water surfaces. Industrial, construction and commercial service activities have also flourished, becoming new "spearheads" alongside agriculture.
