Nghia Hanh commune was formed by merging three communes: Phu Son, Nghia Hanh, and Tan Huong. With a natural area of ​​112 km² and a population of over 22,000 people, Nghia Hanh is among the communes with a prominent scale in the province. On this foundation, a new Party committee was also formed with nearly 700 members and 39 grassroots Party organizations, creating political and organizational strength for long-term development.

Nghia Hanh commune boasts not only a large scale but also a strategic location. 10.5 km of the Ho Chi Minh Highway runs through the area, along with 30 km of river flowing alongside it, making it a connecting point between key economic regions, opening up opportunities for trade, attracting investment, and developing new types of services. Furthermore, the commune has a diverse land area of ​​over 11,000 hectares, of which more than 6,000 hectares are forest land – a valuable resource for developing the forest economy while protecting the ecological environment and promoting ecotourism.

Nghia Hanh is also home to many diverse communities and rich cultural traditions. Its people are known for their diligence, studiousness, and strong sense of community. After the merger, this spirit of unity and consensus among officials, Party members, and the people has become the "glue" that binds the locality together, helping it quickly stabilize and develop its potential. Its geographical location, natural potential, and socio-cultural foundation are the "capital" that enables Nghia Hanh to begin its journey towards becoming a new rural commune in the new era of development.

Following the merger, Nghia Hanh commune entered a development phase starting from a low base, affected by the pandemic, natural disasters, and price fluctuations. However, the socio-economic landscape for the 2020-2025 term reveals a different picture: the dynamism of a newly formed commune with positive developments in many areas.

The economy maintained a relatively high growth rate, with many important indicators exceeding the resolution's targets. From a purely agricultural commune, Nghia Hanh has begun to shift its economic structure towards increasing added value: developing forest economy, forming farms and livestock breeding farms in a chain; applying scientific and technological advancements in agricultural production; expanding aquaculture, and effectively utilizing water surface. Industrial and construction activities and commercial services have also flourished, becoming new "spearheads" alongside agriculture.

Notably, the New Rural Development movement has become a powerful intrinsic driving force. Infrastructure such as transportation, irrigation, schools, health stations, and cultural centers have been invested in and upgraded more comprehensively; many public welfare projects have been completed thanks to a combination of state funding and voluntary contributions from the people. These projects not only improve the quality of life but also pave the way for the development of socio-economic activities.

Nghia Hanh also focuses on administrative reform, applying information technology in management, and gradually building the foundation for a digital government and digital economy. Attracting non-budgetary investment, unleashing the potential of land, minerals, and human resources has created important additional resources for the commune's continued development. All of this shows a socio-economic picture transforming towards modernity and sustainability, laying the foundation for the goal of becoming a new rural commune by 2030.

If the economy is the "backbone," then culture and life are the "heart" in the journey of building the new Nghia Hanh commune. From the early years after the merger, the commune has considered caring for its people and improving their material and spiritual quality of life as the focus of all policies. As a result, many targets in education, health, and social welfare have been achieved ahead of schedule and exceeded the plan.

In the field of education, school facilities have been invested in, and teaching equipment has been modernized, creating conditions for improving the quality of teaching and learning. The healthcare network has been strengthened, and programs for disease prevention and control, as well as maternal and child health care, have been implemented promptly. Particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, the commune proactively implemented measures for prevention, admission, and treatment, ensuring the safety of the community.

Social welfare has also been prioritized with numerous policies supporting poverty reduction, job creation, and the improvement of rural labor skills. Many families have risen out of poverty, and people's lives have improved significantly. Alongside this, activities such as showing gratitude and caring for beneficiaries of social policies have been implemented seriously, fostering trust among the people.

The "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement has been strongly embraced, contributing to shaping a new way of life in rural areas. Sports, arts, and traditional festivals are maintained and developed, enriching the local identity. Information and communication infrastructure is developing rapidly, with internet coverage reaching almost all hamlets, creating favorable conditions for implementing digital transformation and raising the intellectual level of the people.

Entering the 2025-2030 term, Nghia Hanh aims to achieve the new rural standard. More important than the quantitative "standards" is the approach the commune chooses to achieve that goal: building a clean, strong political system closely connected to the people, using the satisfaction and well-being of the people as a measure of success.

The commune government clearly defines "putting the people first" as its guiding principle. The Party committee, government, and key officials have maintained regular dialogue with the people, promptly listening to and resolving requests and feedback at the grassroots level. This "closeness to the people" is not only expressed through words but also through officials directly visiting villages and hamlets, attending Party branch meetings, and discussing and implementing practical projects with the people, such as building roads, improving irrigation canals, and constructing schools and cultural centers. Each project and policy is designed so that the people not only "benefit" but also participate, monitor, and provide feedback.

In its development orientation, the commune will continue to focus on administrative reform, promoting digital transformation, and improving the investment environment to mobilize resources for transportation, electricity, information, and educational and medical infrastructure. It will also develop a green economy, forest economy, farms, and local specialty products while simultaneously protecting the environment and adapting to climate change.
