Rewarding 5 special projects seizing 54 kg of crystal meth in Nghe An

On the afternoon of July 1, Nghe An Provincial Police held an award ceremony for groups and individuals who participated in the fight and successfully discovered 5 special cases (666L, 386D, 620D, 720C, 668X), eliminated 5 major drug crime rings, initially arrested 7 subjects, seized 54 kg of crystal meth, 2 heroin cakes, 6,000 MTTH pills, 2 cars, 1 motorbike.

Among the 5 successful cases that were fought and discovered this time, we can mention Case 666L. Specifically, in early June 2020, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Police discovered a drug trafficking and illegal transportation ring with a large quantity of drugs from Laos to the border area of ​​Ky Son district, Nghe An, then transported to other provinces for consumption. After verifying and understanding the situation, the unit established a case to fight.

On June 26, receiving information that the subjects would find a way to transport a large quantity of drugs from the mountainous district of Ky Son to Vinh City, and then continue to send them to distribution points across the country, the Task Force decided to crack the case.

At 10:15 p.m. the same day, at Bam slope area, Cam Son commune, Anh Son district, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Provincial Police coordinated with the Technical Department, Traffic Police Team 1.7 - Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Police, Anh Son District Police, Tuong Duong District Police, Nghe An Customs Department, Na Ngoi Border Guard Station and other professional departments of the Ministry of Public Security to arrest Ho Sy Nguyen (born in 1968), residing in Hoa Nam block, Thach Giam (Tuong Duong) when he was illegally transporting drugs.

At the scene, the authorities discovered and seized 50 kg of crystal meth and a black Fortuner car with license plate 37S - 9793. At the investigation agency, the subject confessed to all his actions. The case is currently being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Director, Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Agency highly appreciated the determination, intelligence, bravery and close coordination between the forces. At the same time, he emphasized that this achievement has contributed to the fight against and prevention of drug trafficking routes from Laos to Vietnam for consumption.

The comrades requested that the forces continue to coordinate effectively and fight strongly and resolutely against drug crimes, not only against transnational drug trafficking rings but also against drug trafficking activities in the area.
