Rewarding railway staff for delivering a baby on train SE6
Vietnam Railways Corporation organized a "hot" reward for the SE6 train staff who wholeheartedly supported a passenger giving birth on the train on the morning of January 16.
At 7:00 a.m. on January 16, when train SE6 arrived at the My Trach - Phu Hoa section, attendant Dinh Quang Huan - in charge of car number 5, train SE6 reported to train captain Nguyen Dinh Tai (Southern Railway Attendant Group) that there was a passenger in the car with abdominal pain and about to give birth. Train captain Tai and the train's cleaner Nguyen Viet Hung immediately arrived at car 5, bed 26 to assess the situation and see if there was a plan to support the passenger.

This morning (January 16), Mr. Thai Van Truyen - Director of Phuong Nam Flight Attendant Group said that the flight attendant group of Thong Nhat SE6 train had supported a pregnant woman to successfully give birth while passing through Quang Binh province.

The passenger in labor preparing to give birth is Ms. Truong Thi Oanh, born in 1989, residing in Thanh Huong commune, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An province, with ticket in compartment 5, bed 26, departure station: Bien Hoa, arrival station: Vinh. Traveling with Ms. Oanh is her husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Ty, residing in Thanh Linh commune, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An.
The crew immediately prepared warm water, towels, medical alcohol, paper and other supplies... to assist passengers in giving birth. At the same time, the on-board radio called for passengers with medical expertise to assist, but none were available.
Therefore, the sanitation worker Hung directly assisted Ms. Oanh's husband in giving birth. At 8:35 am, Ms. Oanh gave birth to a baby girl, both mother and child were in good health, bringing great joy to the couple and the train crew. Afterwards, the train captain called Dong Hoi station to call an ambulance, and when the train arrived at the station, they took Ms. Oanh and her child safely to the hospital.
In recognition of the SE6 train crew’s dedication to serving passengers, Chairman of the Vietnam Railways Trade Union Mai Thanh Phuong presented a certificate of merit and a bonus to the train crew. “Hopefully, from the beautiful actions of the SE6 train crew today, there will be many more beautiful actions, more enthusiasm and thoughtfulness towards passengers to spread the beautiful image of railway staff to passengers and the people,” said Mr. Phuong./.
