'It's hard to have been abused' at Binh Duong Social Protection Center
Binh Duong police said that the area where the young woman was staying in the Social Protection Center had many people working day and night, so it was unlikely that she had been sexually assaulted.
After more than 10 days of investigating the case of a young woman who accused staff of the Binh Duong Social Protection Center of sexually abusing her for two years, Binh Duong Police said that some officers and employees working there said that she often showed abnormal behavior. The area where the girl lived had many people working, both day and night, so it was unlikely that she had been sexually abused multiple times in two years.

The young woman from Nghe An was first admitted to the Binh Duong Social Protection Center on August 9, 2016, when she was nearly 16 years old. On July 24, the People's Committee of Nghi My Commune, Nghi Loc District (Nghe An) sponsored her to return to her hometown for management. However, on September 7, after being admitted to the center for the second time, the young woman escaped to Ho Chi Minh City.
With no place to live, she was taken to the Support Center of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City by the People's Committee of Ward 26, Binh Thanh District, in early October. There, she showed signs of psychological abnormalities, was always afraid, panicked, often startled in her sleep, and was afraid of contact with men. The young woman told the center's staff that she had been repeatedly abused by a male employee of the Binh Duong Social Protection Center in Room C2, Women's Area.
According to Mr. Nguyen Bao Thanh (Director of Binh Duong Social Protection Center), this security guard has worked for 5 years without any complaints. The center has 4 security guards, divided into two groups that take turns on duty. After receiving the complaint, the unit transferred this employee to the Administration Department to facilitate verification.
Reporting to the agency's leaders and working with the investigation agency, the man completely denied the young woman's accusation and said he was ready to confront her to clarify.
The incident is still being investigated jointly by Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong police.
