Suffering because of trash.
(Baonghean.vn) -It is evident that waste management in Vinh City has made positive progress recently, thanks in part to the efforts of the Environmental Sanitation Company. However, the issue of waste management remains a persistent problem that the city has yet to overcome.
Many residents of Ha Huy Tap ward say that for a long time, the banks of the North Canal and the road along it have become a public garbage dump with all kinds of waste: from household waste and animal carcasses to solid waste. The already polluted and foul-smelling canal, combined with the lingering smell of garbage, has made life miserable for residents along its banks. According to observations, the largest piles of garbage are found right in front of the Traditional Medicine Hospital, mostly dumped illegally by residents in the middle of the night.
On Le Hong Phong street, there are two garbage collection points located not far from each other. Ironically, these two collection points, filled with dozens of overflowing garbage trucks, are situated right near two cultural and educational institutions: the Bookstore and Equipment Supermarket and the Nghe An Publishing House. Every evening, piles of garbage emitting foul odors appear next to stalls selling "specialty" dishes like grilled chicken feet and roast duck...

Hazardous solid waste (broken glass, construction materials) is dumped right at the base of utility poles and under trees near Le Mao Primary School on Dinh Cong Trang Street, and right beneath the slogan: Clean streets, beautiful pathways, civilized neighborhood.
Garbage is piled up right in front of the Nghe An Publishing House, next to grilled chicken feet and roast duck stalls, and even a sign advertising local specialties has "sprung up" right on the garbage collection point.

Furthermore, on many roads such as Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, along the Cua Tien River bank, and especially in makeshift markets, after a day of trading, a large amount of waste is also generated indiscriminately...
It can be said that the biggest cause of this problem is that the public's awareness has not kept pace with the city's determination and efforts. An effective, simple, and practical solution, such as deodorizing and disinfecting the piles of garbage left in the middle of the streets awaiting collection, has not been implemented by the Environmental Sanitation Company or by individual communes and wards. In addition, the garbage collection methods and schedules are not reasonable, coupled with the lack of active involvement from local organizations and authorities, and insufficient penalties, all of which make ensuring environmental sanitation difficult.
