This morning, March 3rd, the Faculty of Economics at Vinh University solemnly held a ceremony to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its founding (February 24, 2003 - February 24, 2013). Attending the ceremony were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Teacher Dinh Xuan Khoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Rector of Vinh University, along with numerous generations of faculty members and students from the Faculty of Economics throughout its history.

The Faculty of Economics was established by a decision of the Ministry of Education and Training on February 24, 2003. The establishment of the Faculty marked a significant milestone, signifying the transformation from a single-discipline teacher training university to a multi-disciplinary university in Vinh, meeting the increasingly high demands of the economy in the era of integration.
Inheriting and developing the training traditions of the University, combined with the youthful energy, dynamism, and dedication of generations of teachers and students, the Faculty of Economics at Vinh University has quickly affirmed its position in training and scientific research, making positive contributions to providing high-quality human resources to serve the economic development of the province, region, and the whole country. In its first enrollment, the Faculty had only 44 students in the Business Administration major. Now, after 10 years of development, the Faculty of Economics has over 6,000 students studying in three systems (full-time, part-time, and distance learning). From initially only one major, it now offers four full-time undergraduate programs, three part-time programs, one distance learning program, and one Master's program. From having only eight lecturers, it now boasts over 54 qualified staff and lecturers.
To meet the growing needs of society and international economic integration, the faculty, staff, and students of the Faculty of Economics at Vinh University will continue to build upon their achievements, focusing on improving the professional capacity of lecturers, conducting scientific research, and writing textbooks and reference materials. In particular, the Faculty will always prioritize developing collaborative activities with domestic and international partners, striving to become one of the strongest faculties at Vinh University.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to the collective and 3 individuals of the Faculty of Economics, Vinh University, for their outstanding achievements in the 10 years of building and developing the Faculty.
