This morning, March 3, the Faculty of Economics, Vinh University solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Faculty's founding (February 24, 2003 - February 24, 2013). Attending the ceremony were comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Associate Professor, Doctor, Meritorious Student Dinh Xuan Khoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Vinh University, and many generations of teachers and students of the Faculty of Economics through the ages.

The Faculty of Economics was established by the Ministry of Education and Training on February 24, 2003. The establishment of the Faculty is an important milestone marking the transformation from a single-disciplinary University of Education model to a multidisciplinary Vinh University, meeting the increasing needs of the economy in the integration period.
Inheriting and promoting the training tradition of the School, combined with the youth, dynamism and enthusiasm of generations of teachers and students, the Faculty of Economics of Vinh University has quickly affirmed its position in training activities, scientific research and actively contributed to providing high-quality human resources to serve the economic development of the province, the region and the whole country. In the first enrollment period, the Faculty had only 44 students majoring in Business Administration. Up to now, after 10 years of construction and development, the Faculty of Economics has a scale of more than 6,000 students studying in 3 systems (full-time, part-time, distance learning). From only recruiting 1 major, now there are 4 regular university majors, 3 part-time training majors, 1 distance learning major, and 1 Master's training major. From only 8 lecturers, there are now over 54 cadres and lecturers with qualified and above-standard qualifications.
To meet the increasing demands of society and international economic integration, the collective of staff, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Economics of Vinh University continues to promote the achievements, focusing on improving the professional capacity of the teaching staff, scientific research, writing textbooks, reference materials... In particular, the Faculty will always focus on developing cooperative activities with domestic and foreign partners, striving to become one of the strongest Faculties of Vinh University.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to the collective and 3 individuals of the Faculty of Economics, Vinh University for their outstanding achievements in 10 years of building and developing the Faculty.
