In an effort to achieve the goal of becoming an advanced new rural district by 2025, by integrating funding from various programs and projects, Yen Thanh district has focused on completing key transportation routes.

The first priority is upgrading National Highway 7B, the section passing through Yen Thanh town. This is a vital road, but it has been severely degraded for a long time, with the asphalt surface peeling off and riddled with potholes. Because there are no drainage ditches on either side of the road, some sections are flooded after even a heavy rain.

In response to the above situation, using funds from the Vietnam Road Maintenance Fund, the Vietnam Road Administration invested in and began construction of the project "Repairing damaged road surfaces and foundations, drainage system to ensure traffic safety" in early June 2024. The project covers a length of 5.5km through Yen Thanh district (including Yen Thanh town and the communes of Hop Thanh, Hoa Thanh, Tang Thanh, Hoa Thanh, and Xuan Thanh).

Accordingly, 3 km of asphalt paving, 5 cm thick, will be constructed through Yen Thanh town, while the remaining 2.5 km will involve repairing drainage ditches and reinforcing the shoulders with concrete on both sides, each 2.5 m wide. To date, the upgrade project for National Highway 7B section through Yen Thanh town has reached over 95% completion. Currently, the construction unit is implementing tasks such as painting the shoulders and marking road lines according to standards.

The Rú Gám eco-tourism ring road in Yên Thành district, over 5 km long, connecting from National Highway 7B to National Highway 48E, passing through Bắc Thành, Xuân Thành, and Tăng Thành communes, has been upgraded comprehensively. This includes asphalt paving, drainage shoulders on both sides, street lighting, and greenery. To date, the road is over 90% complete and is expected to be put into use in 2024.

Furthermore, the road connecting Lang Thanh commune in Yen Thanh district to Tan Son commune in Quynh Luu district, over 10 km long, is a vital route for transporting acacia and pineapple raw materials. However, for many years, this road has seriously deteriorated, flooding and causing asphalt peeling during heavy rains. To facilitate travel for the people and promote the development of acacia raw material areas, connect trade, and develop socio-economic activities between the northern communes of Yen Thanh district such as Tien Thanh, Tan Thanh, Ma Thanh, and some communes of Quynh Luu district, Yen Thanh district has been investing in upgrading this road since the beginning of 2024.

Despite the steep and challenging terrain, the unit is actively removing weathered soil from the road surface and proceeding with the next steps. Currently, the construction unit has removed over 100% of the weathered soil from the road and has already laid 3 km of asphalt. According to the plan, this road will be put into use by the end of 2025.

Currently, Yen Thanh district is still implementing the construction of an inner-city road in Yen Thanh town, nearly 1 km long, which will both facilitate transportation and create a highlight for the appearance of Yen Thanh town. To date, the road construction has reached over 35% completion and is expected to be put into use in 2025.

A representative from the Yen Thanh District People's Committee added: The upgraded sections of National Highway 7B and the Ru Gam ecological tourism ring road have been put into use, demonstrating good effectiveness and contributing to socio-economic development in the district. Regarding the remaining projects, the district is urging the construction units to accelerate progress to ensure that the planned schedule for 2025 is met, with all sections put into operation simultaneously.
