Drilling wells and growing vegetables earn more than 260 million VND/ha

(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2015 - 2016 winter-spring crop, Quynh Minh commune (Quynh Luu) produced 125 hectares of various vegetables, with an average yield of 22 tons/ha. This year, due to unusual weather conditions and difficulties in production, green vegetables were sold at good prices, with farmers earning between 260 and 300 million VND/ha.

This year the weather is not favorable for winter-spring crop production, but Quynh Minh people quickly overcame it and replanted short-term vegetables such as sweet cabbage, chrysanthemum greens, lettuce, onions... to speed up production cycle and increase income.

To achieve high yields, Quynh Minh farmers invest in drilling wells and irrigation pipeline systems right at the foot of the fields. Each production area has 2 wells to provide irrigation water to ensure green vegetables all year round.

Many families install semi-automatic irrigation systems, which both reduce labor and create the right humidity for vegetable growth.

Local people always have the initiative to irrigate their fields with water, without worrying about drought, ensuring crop productivity.

Every day, the entire Quynh Minh commune supplies about 30 tons of vegetables, tubers, and fruits to the market. The People's Committee of the commune supports people in investing in infrastructure to serve production, moving towards building the Quynh Minh vegetable brand of quality, ensuring food hygiene and safety for consumers.
