Happy moment of a boy with a rare disease
(Baonghean.vn) – Little Conner Armstrong was not lucky enough to attend his own first birthday, but at least he got to witness the happiest day of his parents' lives.
Conner was born with a rare genetic disorder called Edwards syndrome, which causes birth defects and is often fatal. He was born with three holes in his heart, among other complications.
The syndrome occurs in people born with three copies of chromosome 18, also known as trisomy 18 or Trisomy 18. The incidence of this syndrome is 1 in about 25,000 pregnancies in the United States, where Conner was born.
But the terrible disease did not stop the unfortunate boy from being able to share one of the happiest days with his parents, Patricia and Christopher.

The couple, from Lexington, North Carolina, decided to hold their wedding in the hospital where their son Conner was being cared for after learning that he did not have much time left.
“We wanted to have the wedding after Conner was discharged from the hospital and returned home. But since we knew that Conner would not be able to leave the hospital like other normal children, we decided to have the wedding at the hospital with our children, including Conner,” Patricia shared.

The wedding took place in the hospital, witnessed by Conner and his two sisters, Graci, 6, and Aubree, 5. Conner was held by his parents throughout the wedding, with help from nurses. |
Speaking of the wedding, Patricia said theirs was a “perfect” day – she never imagined that one day she would be getting married with her son by her side.
The couple's wedding was held in a simple ceremony at the hospital, witnessed by Conner and his two sisters, Graci, 6, and Aubree, 5. This day became the most special day of their lives.
Conner, just one month old, died three days later.
After Conner passed away, Conner's father Christopher shared a post about Conner on his Facebook account, writing: "We cherished every moment we had with you, and everyone who was blessed to meet you is so grateful. We love you and will miss you forever... until we meet again."
Patricia added: “We gave Conner the chance to live, to love and to be loved. We gave up everything to be closer to our son. We fought for Conner and he fought for us. Conner has gone to heaven, but we have no regrets about bringing him into this world, however short his time was.”
