Construction begins on the Huoi Bac Military-Civilian Medical Station.

(Baonghean.vn) -On January 13th, the Truong Son Solidarity Organization Committee, in coordination with the Provincial Border Guard Command and the Vietnam Commercial and Industrial Bank (Vietinbank), held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a military-civilian medical station in Huoi Bac village, Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district. Attending the ceremony was Comrade To Hong Hai, Standing Committee member and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.

Construction has begun.

The project, worth nearly 2 billion VND, will, upon completion, provide medical examination, treatment, and healthcare services to more than 3,000 ethnic minority people living in 7 villages of Bac Ly commune (Huoi Bac, Nhot Kho, Keo Pa Tu, Sam Thang, Cha Nga, Keo Nam, Buoc village) and 2 villages of Dooc May commune (Huoi Kho and Nong Han).

Bac Ly is one of the poorest border communes in Nghe An province. For a long time, residents have had to walk more than 5 hours from their homes to the health station in the center of Bac Ly commune (nearly 12km) to see a doctor whenever they were sick. Due to the long distance and difficult travel, people often treated themselves with herbal remedies or consulted traditional healers. The construction of a combined military-civilian health station in the area will help residents have access to local medical care...

The project is expected to be completed and put into use on International Labor Day, May 1st, this year.
