The first to make a move to push the race was Home Secretary Theresa May. In a speech last night, May vowed to unite Britain.
In a letter to the press, Mrs. May wrote: "After last week's referendum, Britain needs strong and trustworthy leadership to lead the country through a period of economic and political uncertainty, and to negotiate the best possible terms when leaving the EU."
She said her team would carry out a "radical social reform programme" to make Britain a country that works for all its people.
This is considered the first step of the female politician who supports the view that Britain should stay in the EU, in an effort to campaign to become the successor of Prime Minister David Cameron.
Another highly regarded figure in the ruling Conservative Party is Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne. However, he has announced that he will not run for office.

Meanwhile, another face considered to have a lot of potential, former London Mayor Boris Johnson, has not made any announcement yet.
As the leader of the Brexit faction, Mr. Johnson is considered to have a slight advantage over Mrs. May. He currently has the support of at least a third of Conservative MPs in Parliament.
The selection of the new leader of the Conservative Party, who will also be the new Prime Minister of the UK, will be conducted by internal party voting. The results are expected to be announced on September 9. After this time, the negotiation process with the EU will officially begin.
