Launching the Festival "Da Lat winter colors"

This morning (December 23), in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province officially launched the "Da Lat Winter Colors" Festival, closing the National Tourism Year of the Central Highlands - Da Lat 2014. Three main programs opened this morning including: Flower Exhibition "Cold Land Flowers", Da Lat Vegetable and Flower Market and Flower Space "Da Lat Four Seasons of Flowers".

The flower exhibition program “Colors of flowers of cold lands” took place at Da Lat Flower Garden, displaying typical and unique flowers of Da Lat city, introducing stone and wood products, and performing famous poems and songs written about Da Lat city.

Especially here, for the first time, the flower miniature contest "Pride - Da Lat, the city of Flower Festival" took place, with 15 miniatures concisely depicting the natural landscape, people, relics, and landscapes with bold characteristics of Da Lat, painstakingly created by artisans, displayed according to each theme at Da Lat Flower Garden Square.

The Dalat Vegetable and Flower Market was held on Nguyen Van Cu Street, with more than 30 units participating in displaying and introducing products. These are businesses, households, cooperatives producing and processing vegetables and flowers, supplying agricultural production materials, introducing high-tech agricultural production processes... The market attracted a large number of tourists and locals to visit and shop for the following products, high-quality flowers, with many new varieties.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Thua, head of Anh Dao General Agricultural Service Cooperative, the unit that built this high-tech production model, said: “Participating in the closing program of the year of cultural tourism, Anh Dao Cooperative brought out local specialties for free tours. Through that, we hope that consumers and visitors will be able to see with their own eyes the products that Da Lat people make with high technology.”

The Flower Space Program “Four Seasons of Flowers in Da Lat” was held at Thuy Ta Park on the banks of Xuan Huong Lake with the combination of 8,000 flower pots and 120 wooden statues of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands. This is a new space, serving the needs of tourists and local people to visit and enjoy, to learn about the unique culture and solidarity of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyen, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, member of the Organizing Committee of the National Tourism Year of the Central Highlands - Da Lat 2014, this is an opportunity for Da Lat - Lam Dong to continue to introduce the potential and strengths of natural landscapes, tourism products, as well as high-quality agricultural products of the locality to all visitors near and far.
