Launching the "Da Lat Winter Colors" Festival
This morning (December 23rd), the "Da Lat Winter Colors" Festival officially kicked off in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, concluding the 2014 National Tourism Year of the Central Highlands - Da Lat. Three main programs were inaugurated this morning: the "Colors of Cold Climate Flowers" flower exhibition, the Da Lat Flower and Vegetable Market, and the "Da Lat Four Seasons of Flowers" flower space.

The "Flower Colors of the Cold Climate" exhibition, held at Da Lat Flower Garden, showcased typical and distinctive flowers of Da Lat city, introduced stone and wood products, and featured famous poems and songs written about Da Lat city.
Notably, this is the first time a flower miniature landscape competition titled "Proud - Da Lat, the City of Flower Festivals" is being held here, featuring 15 miniature landscapes that concisely depict the natural scenery, people, historical sites, and scenic spots characteristic of Da Lat, meticulously created by artisans and displayed according to themes in the Da Lat Flower Garden Square.

The Da Lat Vegetable and Flower Market, held on Nguyen Van Cu Street, featured over 30 participating units showcasing and introducing their products. These included businesses, households, and cooperatives involved in the production and processing of vegetables and flowers, the supply of agricultural materials, and the introduction of high-tech agricultural production processes. The market attracted a large number of tourists and locals who came to visit and purchase high-quality flowers of various new varieties.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Thua, head of the Anh Dao General Agricultural Service Cooperative, the unit that built this high-tech production model, said: “Participating in the closing ceremony of the year of culture and tourism, the Anh Dao Cooperative brought its characteristic local products to offer free tours. Through this, we hope that consumers and visitors can see firsthand the products that the people of Da Lat make using high technology.”

The "Da Lat Four Seasons of Flowers" flower space program is held at Thuy Ta Park on the shores of Xuan Huong Lake, featuring 8,000 flower pots and 120 wooden statues of ethnic minorities from the Central Highlands. This is a unique space, serving the needs of tourists and locals alike, offering opportunities to admire the distinctive culture and spirit of unity of the Central Highlands ethnic groups.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyen, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province and a member of the Organizing Committee of the National Tourism Year of the Central Highlands – Da Lat 2014, this is an opportunity for Da Lat – Lam Dong to continue showcasing its potential and strengths in natural landscapes, tourism products, and high-quality agricultural products to visitors from near and far.
