Coming to Do Luong town in the historic days of August, the Do Luong Victory Monument stands tall, demonstrating the heroic spirit and national heroism of the land and people of Luong. The atmosphere of competition to achieve achievements to celebrate Independence Day September 2nd of the town's people is more bustling. Many new projects are being urgently completed.

Mr. Truong Cong Thao - Secretary of Do Luong town said: Do Luong people have long increased trade and business exchanges. The old Luong market was famous for its prosperity and urbanity, attracting people from all over to buy, sell and exchange. On market days, boats and rafts on the river were close together, bustling back and forth, and the roads were crowded and bustling with people. The buffalo and cow market located on the market wharf was also bustling with buying and selling. In addition, there was also Cong Da market, which specialized in producing rice paper and peanut candy, famous for distribution throughout the province. Today, the peanut candy and rice paper craft village still maintains that old tradition. It can be said that this is the strength for Do Luong town to become a dynamic and wealthy economic region, while developing rapidly in the fields of culture and society...

Thanks to the favorable trade, the cultural and spiritual life of the people of Do Luong town has developed richly and diversely. The most prominent is the spirit of community solidarity, village love, and morality in life. Although they are people from many places living, the people of Do Luong town always keep in mind the belief of "selling distant brothers, buying close neighbors". Therefore, the people here always have each other, help each other in times of difficulty and misfortune... In addition, there are other wards and associations such as money ward, rice ward... showing the solidarity of neighbors, helping each other in business and developing production.

From Do Luong town, go about 30 minutes to the Southwest to Dang Son commune - one of the communes with many national historical relics associated with revolutionary movements. These are Hoang Tran family relics, Phu Nhuan communal house, Xuan Nhu temple, Tien Do temple. Dang Son is also the hometown of comrade Tran To Chan - alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Indochina, term I. Currently, the relics associated with the revolutionary movement have been restored and embellished by the people of Dang Son commune, becoming red addresses in educating the tradition of patriotism for the young generation.

Mr. Hoang Ngoc Tuan - Chairman of Dang Son Commune People's Committee shared: The cadres and people of the commune always promote the tradition of the revolutionary homeland, diligence, dynamism, creativity in labor production and homeland construction. Over the past 5 years, Dang Son's economy has continued to develop in the direction of commodity production, growing rice varieties and vegetables with high economic value. Encouraging industries such as civil carpentry, construction, mechanical welding, rice paper production, silk reeling and spinning... contributes to solving employment and increasing income for the people.

Breakthrough to develop

The new vitality of revolutionary rural areas in Do Luong is spreading, contributing to the development of Do Luong district. Up to now, 100% of inter-commune roads have been asphalted, 98% of village roads have been concreted. Notably, after more than 5 years (2010 - 2016) of building new rural areas (NTM), the whole district of Do Luong has now achieved 454 NTM criteria from only 124 criteria (an average increase of 2.36 criteria per commune). In 2017, the district continued to direct 10 communes that have been recognized as new rural communes to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria. At the same time, it focused on directing 8 communes: Luu Son, Trung Son, Dang Son, Boi Son, Da Son, Dong Son, Bac Son, Lam Son to complete 19/19 new rural criteria. Strive to have 26 communes achieving NTM by 2020, so that Do Luong will become a NTM district.

In order to achieve the goal of becoming a dynamic economic region of the province, investment attraction has been promoted by Do Luong district. Industrial parks in the area have gradually promoted their effectiveness. Prex Vinh Garment Company, belonging to Lac Son Industrial Cluster, after more than 4 years of operation, has affirmed its role as a driving force with sportswear products, leather clothes, and heat-resistant shirts exported to the US and Eastern European markets. Mr. Le Chu Tu - Manager of Prex Vinh Garment Company said: With 2 garment factories invested in modern and advanced infrastructure, the company exports over 2 million products annually with a revenue of nearly 300 billion VND/year. Currently, the company is creating jobs for nearly 5,000 workers in the region and neighboring districts such as Yen Thanh, Anh Son, Tan Ky, Thanh Chuong with an average salary of 3 - 8 million VND/person/month.

To continue promoting development, Do Luong district is focusing on attracting effective investment in Lac Son Industrial Cluster; calling for investment in Thuong Son Industrial Cluster; continuing to request approval from competent authorities to supplement and plan Hoa Son Industrial Cluster; coordinating to ensure stable operation of Song Lam Cement Factory; speeding up the completion of the Cau Dau urban planning project; calling for investors to plan the urban area in the South of the town; building a commercial center in the North opposite the town industrial cluster; planning towns and townships approved by the Provincial People's Committee. The goal is to strive to build Do Luong town by 2020 with all the elements to become a town.
