Two suspects charged for breaking into a house and stealing nearly 1 billion VND.
Two individuals broke into a house and stole money and gold worth nearly 1 billion VND, but were tracked down and arrested by the police.
On January 18th, the police in Thu Thua district (Long An province) announced the arrest of two suspects.breaking into people's homes to steal property.Nearly 1 billion VND was confiscated from Ly Nam Quang (32 years old, from Soc Trang) and Pham Xi (58 years old, from Dong Nai).
Accordingly, the Investigation Police Department of Thu Thua District Police has issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict two suspects, and order the temporary detention of Quang and Xi.

Previously, on December 29, 2023, a resident of An Hoa 3 neighborhood, Thu Thua town, Thu Thua district, reported to the police that their house had been burglarized. The stolen items included cash and various types of gold jewelry, worth nearly 1 billion VND.
Upon receiving the information, the Thu Thua District Police quickly coordinated with the professional departments of the Provincial Police to examine the scene and conduct an investigation.
Through investigative measures, the police quickly identified and arrested the two suspects, Ly Quang Nam and Pham Xi.
At the police station, the two suspects confessed that they took advantage of the homeowner's negligence to break in, rummage through cabinets, and steal property. The police recovered the stolen items, including money and gold.
In addition to the above incident, on January 2nd, a company with 100% South Korean investment located in Hoa Binh Industrial Park, Nhi Thanh commune, Thu Thua district, also suffered a theft of nearly 1.1 billion Vietnamese dong and 46,000 USD (total value over 2 billion dong).
Investigators from the Criminal Police Department and the Thu Thua District Police have tracked down and arrested the perpetrator, Nguyen Dang Khoa (36 years old, from Tien Giang province).
