Prosecuted 2 robbers who struggled and snatched a woman's handbag

On August 10, Hanoi City Police announced that they had decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and issue a detention order against Dao Van Hai and Nguyen Duc Thoi (both born in 2000; residing in Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc province) for the act of "Robbery".

Previously, at about 3:15 a.m. on July 20, Ms. D.TL (born in 1974; living in Dong Quang commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi) was carrying a handbag and driving a motorbike on National Highway 32 from Son Tay town to her home.

When reaching a deserted road in Bai Nha village (Cam Thuong commune, Ba Vi district), suddenly two young men riding a motorbike approached from the left. The person sitting behind grabbed her bag, causing Ms. L. to lose control of the handlebars and fall onto the road, but still holding onto her bag tightly.

During the struggle, seeing that Ms. L. refused to let go of her bag, the driver rushed forward and punched the victim repeatedly in the face and hands. Due to being stunned, Ms. L. was unable to keep her belongings, losing the bag containing 18 million VND, a cell phone and many documents.

After receiving the report of the incident, Ba Vi District Police conducted an investigation, clarified and identified the perpetrators as Dao Van Hai and Nguyen Duc Thoi. However, both subjects had fled their residence.

On August 4, after receiving information that two suspects were hiding in Thanh Ba town (Phu Tho province), a reconnaissance team set out, coordinating with Thanh Ba town police to check all motels, internet cafes, and billiards shops in the area.

At 10pm the same day, the task force arrested Dao Van Hai at the motel. Based on Hai's statement, 1 hour later, the police force arrested Nguyen Duc Thoi at the billiard hall.

Currently, Ba Vi District Police are continuing to consolidate records and evidence to bring the subjects to justice.
