Prosecuted 24 subjects in online gambling ring
Police determined that there were hundreds of thousands of real accounts participating in gambling activities, with the total amount of money bet through the website Fxx88.com being about 30 trillion VND.
On April 28, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency (C02) decided to initiate a criminal case; decided to prosecute the accused for the acts of "Organizing gambling" and "Gambling" against 24 subjects involved in the gambling organization and gambling on the Internet through the website Fxx88.com.
In particular, the Decision to prosecute the accused for the act of Organizing Gambling against 14 subjects, including: Chiu Hao Cheng (born in 1971, Taiwanese - Chinese nationality, residing in Hanoi), Do Trang Linh (born in 1988), Tran Minh Quang (born in 1981), Bui Van Linh (born in 1987), Pham The Cong (born in 1989), Nguyen Sy Dong (born in 1986), Tran Thi Hang (born in 1994), Pham Thi Sau (born in 1995), Bui Xuan Cong (born in 1995), Nguyen Thi Yen (born in 1993, all residing in Hanoi), Pham Tran Vien (born in 1989), Pham Huu Loi (born in 1989, residing in Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Minh Khue (born in 1979, residing in Dong Nai province), Le Hung Quoc (born in 1990, residing in Phu Yen province).

Decision to prosecute 10 suspects for "Gambling" including: Nguyen Quang Trung, Dam Anh Phuc, Essi You Phuc, Vu Ky Anh, Nguyen The Tung, Do Du Tong, Nguyen Anh Vu, Le Ngoc Thuan, Pham Thanh Tu, Le Phan Long.
Implementing the plan to destroy the gambling organization and gambling on the Internet through the website Fxx88..., on April 23, 2019, under the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, over 30 working groups including the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control forces, Criminal Police, and Mobile Police conducted urgent searches and summoned subjects in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Dong Nai, Long An, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau.
The search results seized many luxury cars; large amounts of cash and bank accounts with large account balances; hundreds of electronic devices, many other objects and documents related to gambling and gambling organization activities.
Currently, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Department has issued an emergency detention order for 12 subjects involved in organizing gambling (including one foreign subject in a management and operation role); 10 subjects involved in gambling.
Initially, the subjects confessed to organizing gambling and gambling on the Internet through the website Fxx88... Based on the collected documents, the police determined that there were hundreds of thousands of real accounts participating in gambling activities, with the total amount of money bet through the website Fxx88.com being about 30 trillion VND, 3 times the transaction amount of the gambling line through the card game Rikvip/ Tip.Club.
This is considered the largest gambling ring ever in the country.
Currently, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is investigating and expanding the case.
