Prosecuted 3 subjects for human trafficking under 16 years old
(Baonghean.vn) - Tuong Duong District Police have just successfully broken up a case, arrested 3 subjects for the act of "Trafficking in persons under 16 years old", and rescued 3 child victims before they were sold abroad.
Previously, in mid-July 2023, through the work of grasping the situation, Tuong Duong District Police grasped information that in Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district, there were a number of subjects who showed signs of collusion with subjects outside the area to lure and entice girls to work abroad and paint a picture of wealth in a foreign land, but in fact, they were tricking and selling them abroad.
Using professional measures, the district police identified the subject in the child trafficking ring as Xeo Thi Thanh (born in 1994), residing in Cham Puong village, Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district. The authorities also obtained information that the three girls weretrafficked abroadare LTH (born 2012), CTT (born 2012) and LTN (born 2007), all residing in Cham Puong village.
Faced with that situation, the Provincial Police Department directed the Tuong Duong District Police to establish a special project to concentrate forces to fight and eradicate. Collecting sufficient documents and evidence, at the end of April 2024, the Special Project Committee sent a working group to Cao Bang province to coordinate with the Border Guard force to rescue the 3 girls. Based on the victims' statements, on May 8, 2024, the Tuong Duong District Police arrested Xeo Thi Thanh.
Expanding the fight, on May 9, 2024, the police force successfully arrested two subjects: Luong Thi Bien (born in 1986) and Xeo Van Hien (born in 1976), both residing in Huoi Tho village, Huu Kiem commune, Ky Son district, while both were hiding in Con Cuong town, Con Cuong district.
At the investigation agency, the subjects confessed to colluding with a Vietnamese subject abroad to sell the girls for a profit of 165 million VND.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Tuong Duong District Police has issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute 3 suspects: Xeo Thi Thanh, Luong Thi Bien and Xeo Van Hien for the crime of "Trafficking in persons under 16 years old" according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 151 of the Penal Code. The case is being further investigated and expanded.
