Prosecution and arrest of the person who stabbed the district justice department chief

One week after collecting evidence, the suspect who used a weapon to stab the highest leader of the Justice Department of Tra On District, Vinh Long Province was prosecuted and arrested.

Truong Van Ai was arrested by the police.

On the afternoon of March 17, information from the Investigation Police Agency, Vinh Long Provincial Police said that they had just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Truong Van Ai (50 years old, residing in Tra On Town, Tra On District, Vinh Long Province) for the act of "Intentionally causing injury".

Previously, the suspect Ai’s family provided the investigation agency with some documents proving that this person had a history of mental illness. Accordingly, Mr. Ai had been treated at the Bien Hoa Central Psychiatric Hospital in Dong Nai province.

However, because this document was from 2004 (ie 13 years), it was too long, so the investigation agency carried out re-examination procedures to supplement the file for further handling.

According to the investigation, at around 7:00 a.m. on March 10, due to a conflict with Mr. Nguyen Van Doi (56 years old - Head of the Justice Department of Tra On District), Ai, an employee of the district's Justice Department, suddenly used a weapon to attack him, causing the Head of the Department to collapse with his injuries at work.

Mr. Doi was taken to the district hospital for emergency treatment and then transferred to Can Tho Central General Hospital for monitoring and treatment with multiple injuries, especially a severe wound to the left arm and a perforated small intestine that required surgery.

As for Ai, after stabbing Mr. Doi in the stomach, he threw away the weapon at the scene and quickly got on his motorbike and drove straight to his home on Thong Che Dieu Bat Street (Tra On Town, Tra On District), about 1km from the scene, then locked the door, used a knife, scissors, a homemade pitchfork... to barricade himself inside and threatened to not let anyone come near.

Despite being persuaded and persuaded by the authorities, the subject remained stubborn, threatening to continue committing crimes against anyone who dared to break into the house. About 4 hours later, the criminal police force and the reconnaissance force of Vinh Long Provincial Police suddenly broke down the door, sprayed pepper spray to control and arrest the subject.
