Prosecution and temporary detention of grandson who slashed grandfather many times in the head over land dispute
The police have decided to prosecute and temporarily detain for 3 months the grandson who used a knife to slash his grandfather's head many times due to a conflict between father and grandfather.
Colonel Luong Tan Dinh - Chief of Staff of Phu Yen Provincial Police confirmed: The Provincial Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Doan Cong Minh (born 1996, residing in An My commune, Tuy An district) for murder.
Minh is the subject who slashed Mr. Doan Tam (74 years old, grandfather) and was hospitalized with numerous wounds on his head and face. According to the initial report of Mr. D.H.D (Mr. Doan Tam's youngest son), Mr. Tam has 5 children (2 boys, 3 girls).

In recent years, Mr. Tam suffered from a serious illness, so he thought about dividing the total land area of more than 1,400 square meters he owned among his children and selling part of the land for medical treatment.
Mr. D.H.D said that after discussion, the family initially agreed that the above land could be divided into 11 lots.
Mr. D.CT (eldest son) was divided 6 lots and was responsible for worshiping ancestors and grandparents.
3 daughters and youngest son each 1 lot.
Mr. Doan Tam kept the remaining lot to sell for money for medical treatment.
However, this was met with resistance from the eldest son, D.CT.
Mr. D.CT said that he had to receive one more plot of land (7 plots in total) before signing the papers for Mr. Tam to complete the land sale procedures.
Meanwhile, his father did not agree to divide the land with Mr. D.CT. Therefore, Mr. Tam and his eldest son (Mr. D.CT) began to quarrel and fight.
"The peak of the conflict was at around 3:30 p.m. on April 20, when Mr. Tam was beaten and slashed with weapons by his eldest brother, D.CT, and his grandson, Doan Cong Minh (D.CT's son)" - the youngest son recounted.
When Mr. Tam was beaten and slashed, Mr. D.H.D came to stop him but was also slashed and had to be hospitalized.
Currently, Mr. Tam has dozens of wounds on his body, including many cuts on his head and face.
The incident is being investigated by the authorities.
