The suspect who kidnapped a 3-year-old child has been charged and taken into custody.

(Baonghean.vn) -Regarding the kidnapping of 3-year-old Na Na on March 28th, the Nghi Loc District Police in Nghe An Province have decided to initiate criminal proceedings, indict the suspect, and temporarily detain Nguyen Thi Hue.

This morning, April 1st, Colonel Tran Sy Phang, Head of the Nghi Loc District Police, announced that they have served the decision to initiate criminal proceedings, indict, and temporarily detain Nguyen Thi Hue in the kidnapping case of 3-year-old Le Thi Na Na. Nguyen Thi Hue is being charged with "kidnapping for the purpose of extorting property."

As previously reported, on the morning of March 28th, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thin (residing in Hamlet 7, Nghi Trung Commune, Nghi Loc District, Nghe An Province) filed a report with the Nghi Loc District Police regarding the kidnapping of her granddaughter, Le Thi Na Na (born in 2009), daughter of Mr. Le Tien Dung (born in 1984) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (born in 1984), both residing in Hamlet 7, Nghi Trung Commune, Nghi Loc District, by Nguyen Thi Hue.

After being arrested and brought to the Nghi Loc District Police Investigation Department on the afternoon of March 30th, Nguyen Thi Hue confessed that she was the girlfriend of Le Viet Duan, the eldest son of Mrs. Thin's family, and that she had visited the family many times. They had lived together for a long time, and Hue had asked Duan to help her relatives find work.

However, after receiving the money, Duẩn didn't get the job done but disappeared back to his hometown. To get her money back, Huệ took a desperate measure and kidnapped Na Na, threatening Duẩn that she would return the child if he paid her back. When the incident occurred, Huệ didn't realize that kidnapping the child was a crime.

On the afternoon of March 30th, after being taken to the Nghi Loc District Police Station, Hue confessed honestly. Hue stated: “I had no intention of kidnapping Na Na; my actions were meant to threaten Mr. Duan, promising to hand over Na Na if he paid the money he owed. When I took Na Na to my relatives' house in Nam Dinh, I didn't harm her. I took good care of her, providing her with food and drink, and only thought that once I received the money, I would return her to her family. I didn't think the situation would become so serious… I know I was wrong and deeply regret my actions. I hope the law will forgive me.”

After receiving a report from Na Na's family, the Nghi Loc District Police quickly launched a special investigation into the whereabouts of Hue and the child. At approximately 1 PM on March 29th, the police located and arrested Hue while she was at the home of an acquaintance in Yen Yen District, Nam Dinh Province.

From the day she fell in love with Duẩn and asked him to help her get a job for the amount of money Huệ declared to the police as 50 million VND, the two broke up after a long time. Duẩn returned to his hometown without returning the money or securing the job, so Huệ went to his family to demand repayment. However, due to her young age and lack of understanding, Huệ acted rashly, taking her niece Na Na hostage to collect the debt, and thus became entangled in legal trouble.

Now, Hue is in prison and facing an inevitable sentence. But her parents and siblings back home never imagined their daughter would be involved in such a crime.
