Prosecution of the accused for murdering a police officer
On September 26, the Investigation Police Agency of Thai Binh Province Police issued a decision to prosecute the accused Vo Tien Manh (born 2002, hometown Quang Binh commune, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh province) for murder.
Previously, at 9:50 p.m. on September 22, Lieutenant Do Van Tu (born in 1998, residing in Quynh Hai commune, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province), an officer of the An Bai town police, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province, was on duty when he received a report from the people at alley 61, Pham Nhu Trinh street, group 5, An Bai town about the appearance of a suspicious subject, having committed acts of theft of property.
Lieutenant Do Van Tu reported and was assigned by the commander to go to the area to grasp the situation. During the course of carrying out the mission, comrade Do Van Tu was stabbed multiple times by the subject. After that, the subject fled the scene.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the leaders of Thai Binh Provincial Police were present at the scene; at the same time, they directed professional units, district and city police to mobilize maximum forces and means to coordinate with the Provincial People's Procuracy, local authorities to conduct investigation activities; organize concentrated forces and search for the subject. In addition, they coordinated with the leaders and doctors of Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital to focus on emergency treatment for comrade Tu. However, he did not survive due to severe injuries.
With professional measures and a determined spirit to attack and suppress crime, after 14 hours, the police force arrested Vo Tien Manh while he was hiding in Ninh Binh province.
To recognize the sacrifice of comrade Do Van Tu while on duty, on September 24, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security decided to posthumously promote comrade Do Van Tu from Lieutenant to Senior Lieutenant.
