Drug addict prosecuted for raping and robbing a woman in the middle of the night

Yen Thanh District Police (Nghe An) said that the unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Nguyen Trong Thuong (born 1997), residing in Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, for the following acts:rape, robbery, theft of property.
Previously, on November 10, 2020, Yen Thanh District Police received a complaint from Ms. NTB (born in 1988), residing in Yen Thanh District, stating that at about 2:30 a.m. on the same day, Ms. NTB was sleeping at her home when a thief broke into her house, used a sharp knife to control her, and then raped her. Not stopping there, before escaping, the subject also robbed Ms. B of 2 mobile phones.

After receiving the report and determining the complicated nature of the case, under the direction of the Provincial Police, Yen Thanh District Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department (Nghe An Police) to establish a special project to quickly arrest the perpetrator.
At the beginning of the investigation, the Task Force encountered many difficulties because the incident occurred late at night, there were no adjacent houses around Ms. B's house, and Ms. B was sleeping with her child, so there were no witnesses. On the other hand, after being raped, the victim changed all her clothes and about 9 hours after being raped and robbed, Ms. B reported to the police.
With the highest determination, the Task Force has established a suspect, Nguyen Trong Thuong (born in 1997), residing in Tay Ho hamlet, Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. This is a drug addict, often having irregular living hours. At 9:00 p.m. on November 23, 2020, the Task Force arrested Nguyen Trong Thuong while he was hiding in Nam Thanh commune.
At the police station, Nguyen Trong Thuong admitted to the crime of rape androbberymentioned above. In addition, through the investigation, the Police Department also clarified that on November 2, 2020, the subject also stole an Iphone 8 phone from a resident in Nam Thanh commune.
Currently, the case is being further investigated by Yen Thanh District Police, completing the file to prosecute the subject before the law.
