Chinese son-in-law prosecuted for killing mother-in-law
In the struggle between the two, Ms. Diep took out a knife to stab Xiong Zhuogen, but before she could, Xiong Zhuogen grabbed her and pushed the knife into Ms. Diep's chest.
On June 19, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Tay Ninh Police announced that it had initiated a case and prosecuted Xiong Zhuogen (born in 1981, residing in Jiangxi Province, China) for murder.
According to records, at 10:00 a.m. on June 9, Go Dau District Police (Tay Ninh) received a report of a murder case. The district police immediately arrived at the scene and coordinated with the Office of the Criminal Police Department and professional units of the provincial police to investigate and collect evidence.
The perpetrator was Xiong Zhuogen, a Chinese national. The victim was Ms. Vo Thi Mong Diep (born in 1974, residing in Phuoc Dong commune, Go Dau district), who was Zhuogen's mother-in-law.

At the investigation agency, Zhuogen confessed that at the end of 2018, through a matchmaker, Xiong Zhuogen married Ms. Hong D. (19 years old) but did not register the marriage.
In January 2019, D. went to China to live with Xiong Zhuogen. In May 2019, unable to bear life in a foreign country, D. fled back to Vietnam.
On June 2, Zhuogen went to Vietnam and went to his wife's parents' house to find his wife. At 9:00 a.m. on June 9, only Xiong Zhuogen and Mrs. Diep were left at home. Mrs. Diep was hanging clothes in the kitchen, Xiong Zhuogen went to ask Mrs. Diep where his wife was, she said that he was not home, if Xiong Zhuogen was still here, he would not come back.
Xiong Zhuogen asked Ms. Diep for money to return to China, Ms. Diep said she had no money so the two argued. Ms. Diep used a hook to hit Xiong Zhuogen. Angry and seeing a piece of wood, Xiong Zhuogen picked it up and hit Ms. Diep many times on the head, she ran outside but was dragged back into the house.
During the struggle, Ms. Diep took out a knife to stab Xiong Zhuogen, but before she could, Xiong Zhuogen grabbed her and pushed the knife into her chest. Next, Xiong Zhuogen took another piece of wood and used the knife to slash Ms. Diep's neck, then continued to use the tree to beat her until she died.
After committing the crime, Zhuogen gathered his clothes and fled, but was discovered and arrested by the police.
