On August 15, Dien Chau District Police urgently arrested Tran Quang Nhat, born in 1987, residing in Hamlet 3, Da Don Commune, Lam Ha District, Lam Dong Province, for fraud and property appropriation.

Previously, in early August 2012, Dien Chau District Police received a complaint from Mr. Ta Quang (born in 1970, residing in Dien Ngoc Commune, Dien Chau) about being scammed by Tran Quang Nhat, who appropriated 630 million VND.

Before that, Nhat met Mr. Quang and introduced himself as working at the Government Office, having relatives who were high-ranking officials in the Central Government, and could create favorable conditions for Mr. Quang in doing business. Believing Nhat, Mr. Quang gave Nhat money 4 times to "bribe" for easy business with the amount of 630 million VND, but after receiving the money, Nhat disappeared.

Upon receiving the complaint, Dien Chau District Police set up a task force to verify and arrest the subject. After luring Nhat from Ho Chi Minh City to Dien Chau, Dien Chau District Police issued an emergency arrest warrant for this subject. According to the investigation agency, Nhat is not an official of the Government Office and with this trick, the subject has successfully carried out many scams in localities across the country.

Currently, Dien Chau District Police have decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain Tran Quang Nhat for 4 months to continue to clarify the act of fraud and property appropriation.
