(Baonghean.vn) - After defrauding Mr. Ta Quang of 630 million VND in Dien Chau district, he fled to Ho Chi Minh City. Thanks to the ingenuity of the Dien Chau district police investigators, the suspect fell for the trick and returned to Dien Chau to be handcuffed…

On August 15th, the Dien Chau District Police arrested Tran Quang Nhat, born in 1987, residing in Hamlet 3, Da Don Commune, Lam Ha District, Lam Dong Province, on charges of fraud and misappropriation of property.

Earlier, in early August 2012, the Dien Chau District Police received a complaint from Mr. Ta Quang (born in 1970, residing in Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district) alleging that he had been defrauded of 630 million VND by Tran Quang Nhat.

Previously, Nhat met Quang and introduced himself as someone currently working at the Government Office, claiming to have relatives holding high-ranking positions at the central level, and that he could facilitate Quang's business dealings. Believing Nhat, Quang gave him money four times as a "bribe" to make business deals easier, totaling 630 million VND. However, after receiving the money, Nhat disappeared without a trace.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Dien Chau District Police established a special task force to verify the information and organize a manhunt for the suspect. After luring Nhat from Ho Chi Minh City to Dien Chau, the Dien Chau District Police executed an urgent arrest warrant against him. According to the investigating agency, Nhat was not an official of the Government Office, and using this tactic, he successfully carried out numerous scams in various locations across the country.

The Dien Chau District Police have now decided to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspect, and detain Tran Quang Nhat for 4 months to further investigate his fraudulent activities and appropriation of property.
