Father prosecuted for beating 10 year old daughter, leaving her body bruised

Vinh Yen City Police, Vinh Phuc Province, has issued a decision to prosecute the father who beat his daughter, causing bruises on her arms, back, and many other parts of her body.

On April 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Vinh Yen City Police issued a 2-month temporary detention order for Mr. HVL (residing in Dinh Trung Commune, Vinh Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province) to investigate the act of "intentionally causing injury".

Vinh Yen City Police also issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Mr. L. for the above acts. These decisions were approved by the People's Procuracy at the same level.

Previously, on March 28, while drunk, Mr. L. beat his daughter, causing many bruises on her arms, back and body.

According to the leader of Dinh Trung commune, Mr. L. and his wife have recently separated, and their 10-year-old daughter lives with her father. Mr. L. often gets drunk and occasionally beats his daughter. The most recent time, Mr. L. beat his daughter, leaving her with bruises all over her body and a state of panic.

After discovering the incident, the commune authorities and relatives took Mr. L.’s daughter to the hospital for treatment. At the hospital, many people were upset and took pictures of the bruises on the girl’s body and posted them on social media, asking the police to intervene.

Major Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Chief of Vinh Yen City Police, said at the police station that Mr. L. admitted that because he often drank alcohol, he could not control his actions while drunk and beat his daughter.

According to Major Dung, the police organized to take Mr. L's daughter for an injury assessment, the assessment result showed that the child's injury rate after being beaten by her father was 1%.

However, because the victim was a child, the police decided to prosecute Mr. L. for investigation and handling according to the law./.
