Prosecution of the man who murdered his sister's family
Police prosecuted Mr. Bui Xuan Hong (63 years old) for hacking his sister to death and injuring two others.

According to the investigation results, on the evening of September 14, the defendant Hong rode a bicycle, carrying two knives and a gun to the house of his sister Bui Thi Ha (60 years old, in Chua Hang ward, Thai Nguyen city) to collect debt.
The suspect went straight into the kitchen and asked his son-in-law Nguyen Thanh Vuong (38 years old) about a loan of about 3 billion VND that had not been paid. A loud argument broke out. Mr. Hong pulled out a knife and stabbed Vuong, injuring him.
Seeing his sister and her husband trying to stop him, Mr. Hong brandished a knife, slashing Ms. Ha to death and seriously injuring his brother-in-law.

According to the authorities, Mr. Hong claimed that he lent Mr. Vuong and his wife about 3 billion VND for business but was unable to get it back many times. In June 2018, he was promised that he would receive the debt but it never came, while he needed money to treat diabetes.
He said he had kept the gun for a long time. He had written a will and bought land to prepare for his funeral. He planned to kill himself after killing his son-in-law, not his sister.
