On May 4, information from Dak Po District Police, Gia Lai Province said that they had issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and prohibit leaving the place of residence for Mr. Doan Thanh Hai, 43 years old, residing in Cu An Commune, Dak Po District for the act of "resisting a person on duty".

Previously, at around 2:00 p.m. on April 23, a working group consisting of Captain Nguyen Bao Hung (team leader), Captain Nguyen Van Binh and Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Duy Hung from the Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Province were patrolling on National Highway 19 (through Cu An Commune, Dak Po District) when Mr. Hai came to ask to borrow money from Captain Binh but was not satisfied, so he insulted and obstructed the working group's activities.

The task force asked Mr. Hai to go home and allowed the patrol car to continue moving, but he chased after him, blocked the car and cursed. Then, Mr. Hai suddenly attacked and injured Captain Binh, shouting "police beat people" over and over again.
