Prosecution of former Deputy Director of Department of Planning and Investment related to AIC
Tran Thi Binh Minh was prosecuted for "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" related to the case that occurred at International Progress Joint Stock Company (AIC), the Biotechnology Center and related units.
According to information from the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency (Department of Investigation Police on Crimes of Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling) has prosecuted former Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City Tran Thi Binh Minh for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" related to the case that occurred at the International Progress Joint Stock Company (AIC), the Center for Biotechnology and related units.
As a result of the expanded investigation into the case of "Violating regulations on bidding causing serious consequences" occurring at Tien Bo International Joint Stock Company (AIC), Ho Chi Minh City Biotechnology Center and related units, on July 6, 2023, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency (Department of Investigation Police on Crimes of Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling) issued a Decision to supplement the Decision to prosecute the criminal case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" occurring at the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City, AIC Company, Biotechnology Center and related units. At the same time, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a Decision to prosecute the accused, an Arrest Warrant for temporary detention, and a Search Warrant for Tran Thi Binh Minh - former Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" under Clause 3, Article 356 of the Penal Code for taking advantage of assigned position and power to approve project adjustments and project estimates for 12 laboratories in violation of the law, causing damage to state property.
On July 7, 2023, after the Supreme People's Procuracy (Department 3) approved the above Decision and Order, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency organized the implementation in accordance with the law. The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is continuing to expand the investigation of the case, applying measures prescribed by law to recover assets for the State.
