Prosecution of former Deputy Governor of the State Bank Dang Thanh Binh
The Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security has just issued a decision to prosecute Mr. Dang Thanh Binh, former Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.
On September 8, the Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security, has just issued a decision to prosecute Mr. Dang Thanh Binh (born 1954), former Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, for irresponsibility causing serious consequences.
According to the source, Mr. Binh was prosecuted for his involvement in the major economic case of Pham Cong Danh and his accomplices, causing a loss of 9,000 billion VND.
The prosecution agency applied the preventive measure of prohibiting the defendant Dang Thanh Binh from leaving his place of residence.

It is known that Mr. Binh has more than 30 years of experience working in the banking sector. In May 2005, Mr. Binh was appointed by the Prime Minister as Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.
Before holding the position of Deputy Governor, Mr. Binh was Director of the Department of Organization, Personnel and Training of the State Bank of Vietnam.
Previously, Mr. Binh held the following positions: Director of the Financial Institutions Department since 1994; in 1997 he was transferred to the position of Director of the Legal Department; in 2002 he began holding the position of Director of the Organization and Personnel Department of the State Bank.
Currently, the case is under investigation and expansion.
