Prosecuted a group of thieves who committed 13 thefts within 2 months
(Baonghean.vn) - Taking advantage of the time when people went to sleep without closing their doors, the subjects broke into people's houses and "stole" everything from cigarettes, irons, chickens, televisions, phones, to cash.
On June 26, the Investigation Police Agency of Nam Dan District Police has just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and detain for 60 days Nguyen Khac Hoang (born 2000), Bui Ngoc Hoang (born 1986), both residing in Hong Long Commune, Nam Dan District for the act of Theft of property and continue to investigate and clarify Bui Van Yen (born 2000), residing in Hamlet 11, Hong Long Commune for similar acts.
According to the investigation results and clarification from Nam Dan District Police, from the beginning of April 2019 until now, Nguyen Khac Hoang, Bui Ngoc Hoang and Bui Van Yen have committed 13 break-ins and thefts in the area; with a total value of nearly 50 million VND. Accordingly, in a short time, Nam Dan District Police continuously received reports from people about thieves breaking into their houses and "stealing" all their assets. For example: On June 17, Ms. Le Thi Hong (born in 1942), residing in Hong Long Commune, came to Nam Dan District Police to report: At about 2 a.m. the same day, her family was broken into and robbed of an iron and a 32-inch Sony TV with a total value of about 6 million VND.
On June 18, the house of Mr. Le Hong Trung (born in 1985), also residing in Hong Long commune, Nam Dan district, was also broken into by thieves who stole a 43-inch Sony TV worth about 14.5 million VND. Ms. Phan Thi Tinh (born in 1983), residing in Hong Long commune, Nam Dan district, was broken into by thieves who stole 4 different branded phones worth 4.1 million VND. The family of Mr. Le Van Hop (born in 1972), residing in Hung Tien commune, Nam Dan district, was broken into by thieves who stole a 43-inch LG TV worth more than 11 million VND...
After receiving the reports, the Nam Dan District Police quickly began investigating and clarifying the case. However, because the property thefts occurred in many different communes, the scope of suspects was wide, involving many localities.
In addition, most of the property thefts take place in a short period of time at night and early morning when people are fast asleep, without any traces at the scene, no witnesses to provide information, and no identification of the subjects. Therefore, the work of collecting evidence, verifying the investigation by detectives and investigators faces many difficulties.
Based on the details of the cases reported by the victims, Nam Dan District Police determined that the above thefts were committed by a group of people. Based on documents, evidence and using sharp professional measures, Nam Dan District Police investigated and clarified that the three subjects Nguyen Khac Hoang, Bui Ngoc Hoang and Bui Van Yen were the perpetrators of many property thefts in Nam Dan District.
It is known that all 3 subjects above do not have stable jobs and often gather to party. Although they live in different neighborhoods but in the same commune, they quickly became friends, becoming a trio that gets along well with each other from drinking to hanging out. To have money to "burn" on drinking parties all night long, the 3 subjects discussed with each other to become thieves.

At the police station, Nguyen Khac Hoang, Bui Ngoc Hoang and Bui Van Yen confessed to their crimes. Most recently, at around 1:30 a.m. on June 15, all three subjects were driving a motorbike past the house of Le Hong Tr. (born in 1985), residing in Hamlet 6, Hong Long Commune, Nam Dan District, when they saw the main door of the house open and unlocked. Out of greed, Nguyen Khac Hoang, Bui Ngoc Hoang and Bui Van Yen discussed and agreed to enter Tr.'s house to steal property.
They assigned someone to stand guard outside, if they detected any movement, they would notify the intruders to escape in time; one subject would directly climb inside and break into the house; the remaining person would carry out the process of transporting the stolen items from inside the house to the outside.
They stole a 43-inch Sony TV worth about 14.5 million VND from Mr. Tr.'s house and escaped by car. They then took the TV to Vinh City to sell it to pawnshops and used the money for personal expenses.
