Prosecution of a group of people who blocked the road and humiliated others due to jealousy

(Baonghean.vn) - Suspecting that Ms. L had an affair with her husband, Nguyen Thi Hoang Yen (32 years old, residing in Yen Binh hamlet, Hung Dong commune, Vinh city) asked her brother and brother-in-law to hire a taxi to block the road as a warning. When Ms. L was on her way home from work, the group suddenly blocked her car and used iron scissors to cut her hair. While resisting, Yen's iron scissors stabbed Ms. L in the head, forcing the victim to go to the hospital to have her wound bandaged.

On December 15, Vinh City Police said they had initiated a case and prosecuted a group of suspects in Hung Dong commune to investigate and clarify the crime of humiliating others.

Accordingly, on December 11, because she suspected her husband of having an illicit relationship with Ms. L., Nguyen Thi Hoang Yen invited her brother named Nguyen Thanh Van and brother-in-law named Ha Danh Hang (both residing in Hung Dong commune) to hire a taxi to the gate of Ms. L's workplace to beat her up.

Here, Yen and her brother-in-law sat in the car waiting outside the gate, while Van went to Ms. L's workplace to identify her. Here, Van discovered a woman with the characteristics exactly as Yen described, so he called Ms. L's phone number (provided by Yen).

Seeing Ms. Yen pick up the phone and identify the person they needed to beat up, Van hung up, went back out with Yen and Hang, got in a taxi and went to an area far from residential areas to block the road to confront Ms. L.

At about 5:30 p.m. the same day, when Ms. L was riding her motorbike from work home, she arrived at a field far from residential areas in Hamlet 1, Nghi Lien Commune, when Yen, Hang and Van suddenly blocked her motorbike in front of her. Then Van twisted Ms. L's two arms behind her back, while Yen rushed in with black iron scissors to cut Ms. L's hair (60-70cm long).

Hang was assigned to keep watch in case Ms. L's family came. Because Ms. L struggled to escape, the scissors pierced her head, causing her skin to tear and bleed.

After committing the crime, the suspects got in a taxi and fled, while the victim was taken to Hospital 115 by local people to have his wounds bandaged and the police were notified.

Upon receiving the information, the Vinh City Police Department directed the Investigation Team to urgently collect documents and investigate and arrest the criminals. According to Ms. L, at the time of the incident, it was dark so she could not clearly recognize the faces of the people who had humiliated her.

Determining this to be a case of jealousy, after checking the subjects in Vinh City, that same night, detectives discovered and arrested a suspect named Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, residing in Hung Dong commune, to investigate and clarify the crime of humiliating others.

At the investigation agency, Yen stated that she did not cut Ms. L's hair but hired two other young men. However, with the collected evidence, Vinh City Police arrested Yen's brother and brother-in-law, Nguyen Thanh Van and Ha Danh Thang.

At the investigation agency, both subjects confessed that they hired a taxi with Yen to go to Ms. L's workplace to wait to block the road and beat her up because Yen suspected Ms. L of having an illicit relationship with her husband.

It is known that Nguyen Thanh Van has a previous conviction for resisting a law enforcement officer in 2015 at Vinh City Drug Rehabilitation Center.

On December 15, Vinh City Police initiated a case and prosecuted the above defendants for the crime of humiliating others.
