Four more people prosecuted for giving and receiving bribes in Son La exam cheating case
Four more people were prosecuted to investigate the act of giving and receiving bribes in the case of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" in the 2018 National High School Exam.
Continuing to investigate and expand the case of "Taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties" that occurred at the National High School Graduation Examination Council of Son La province in 2018, on December 18, the investigation security agency of Son La Provincial Police executed decisions and orders to prosecute and arrest a number of additional subjects for the crime of "Giving and receiving bribes".
Additional prosecution of defendants Nguyen Thi Hong Nga and Cam Thi Bun Son for the crime of accepting bribes as prescribed in Article 354 of the Penal Code; at the same time, change the preventive measure, issue an arrest warrant for Cam Thi Bun Son (previously released on bail).

Prosecuted and issued an arrest warrant for the temporary detention of 2 suspects: Tran Van Dien (born in 1969), residing in group 10 - Chieng Le ward, Son La city, Son La province; an officer of Chieng Coi Primary School - Son La city and Hoang Thi Thanh (born in 1969), residing in hamlet 1, Muong Giang commune, Quynh Nhai district, Son La province; Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quynh Nhai district for the crime of "Giving bribes" as prescribed in Article 364 of the Penal Code.
The decisions and orders on prosecution have been approved by the People's Procuracy of Son La province and the security investigation agency has implemented them in accordance with the provisions and procedures of the law.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Son La province, Nguyen Thi Hong Nga was a member of the multiple-choice test processing team assigned to scan and score the test papers. During the test marking period, Nga directly and through Tran Xuan Yen, Dang Huu Thuy, Lo Van Huynh, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Do Khac Hung, Dinh Hai Son received information from 40 candidates, withdrew papers, corrected and raised scores of multiple-choice tests on June 29; June 30 and July 1 and 3, 2018, and Thuy performed the deletion and re-scan of corrected test papers.
When being inspected and checked, Nga concealed her crime by deleting data on the computer. After committing the crime, Nga received 1.4 billion VND and returned 1 billion VND.
Cam Thi Bun Son was a member of the test processing team. Before grading the test, Son received information from a candidate asking for a score increase. Son received 440 million VND.
Lo Van Huynh is the Deputy Head of the Examination Board, in charge of marking the essay exam (Literature). Huynh took advantage of his position and authority to directly receive information from 7 candidates asking for score increases.
On the evening of June 30, 2018, Huynh, along with Nga, Thuy, and Son, withdrew test papers to correct and raise scores for 32 candidates. In addition, Huynh, along with Nga and Nhan, provided the key to raise the Literature scores for 12 candidates (including 3 candidates Huynh helped). Huynh received 1 billion VND.
Dang Huu Thuy is a member of the multiple choice test processing team, assigned with Nga to scan and grade the test papers. Before and during the grading, Thuy received information from 4 candidates asking for their scores to be raised. During 2 days (June 29-30, 2018), Thuy, Nga, Son, and Huynh took the test papers to Thuy's house to edit and raise their scores. In addition, together with Nga, they deleted and re-scanned the edited test papers.
