Accordingly, continuing to expand the investigation of the case of "Giving and receiving bribes" occurring at the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hanoi and other provinces and cities, on July 25, the Investigation Security Agency of the Ministry of Public Security issued a Decision to supplement the Decision to prosecute the criminal case of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" occurring in Hanoi and other provinces and cities; issued Decisions to prosecute the accused, Arrest warrants for temporary detention, Search warrants for residences and workplaces for: Ms. Nguyen Mai Anh (born in 1976) in Quang Ninh, specialist of the Department of International Relations of the Government Office; Mr. Ngo Quang Tuan (born in 1984) in Hanoi, specialist of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Transport; Mr. Tran Van Du (born in 1961) in Thai Binh, former Deputy Director of the Department of Immigration Management, Ministry of Public Security; Mr. Vu Sy Cuong, (born 1986), in Hung Yen, former officer of the Immigration Department, Ministry of Public Security, was also charged with the crime of "Receiving bribes", stipulated in Article 354 of the Penal Code.

The subjects were arrested.

The Investigation Security Agency also prosecuted Mr. Bui Huy Hoang (born in 1988) in Hai Duong, an officer of the Department of Preventive Medicine, Ministry of Health, for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property", stipulated in Article 174 of the Penal Code. At the same time, prosecuted Mr. Nguyen Tien Manh (born in 1970) in Bac Giang, Deputy Director of Lu Hanh Viet Tourism and Trade Joint Stock Company, Director of Hoang Long Luxury Tourism Transport Company for the crime of "Giving bribes", stipulated in Article 364 of the Penal Code.

After the Supreme People's Procuracy approved, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Security Agency served the Decision to prosecute the accused, executed the Arrest Warrant for temporary detention, and searched the residence and workplace of the above 6 accused.

Currently, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Security Agency continues to investigate and expand the case to strictly handle it according to the provisions of law.

Previously, on May 6, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Security Agency issued a Decision to prosecute the accused, an Order to arrest the accused for temporary detention, and an Order to search the residence and workplace for the crime of "Giving bribes", as prescribed in Article 364 of the Penal Code, against two subjects: Nguyen Thi Tuong Vi (born in 1980), Director of ATA Vietnam Consulting and Investment Company Limited and Nguyen Thi Dung Hanh (born in 1972), Director of G Vietnam 19 Company Limited.

At a press conference to announce the situation and results of the Public Security work in the first 6 months of 2022, on the afternoon of June 30, Major General Tran Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Security Investigation - Ministry of Public Security said that the Consular Department case has so far prosecuted 7 defendants for "receiving bribes" and 3 defendants for "giving bribes". "Up to now, the investigation shows that the defendants have received tens of billions of VND and hundreds of thousands of USD. However, the case is still under investigation, so determining how much each defendant gave and received must wait for the final conclusion", Major General Tran Thanh informed.
