Prosecution of the case of 4 people who died while pulling telecommunication cables
Ha Tinh police have determined there are signs of crime in the case of 4 people being electrocuted to death in Cam Xuyen district.
On November 16, Ha Tinh Police said that, regarding the case of 4 people dying while pulling telecommunication cables in Cam Xuyen district that happened 3 weeks ago, the unit has initiated a criminal case to investigate signs ofViolating construction regulations causing serious consequences, according to Article 298 of the 2015 Penal Code.
"During the working process, the authorities found that the incident had signs of a crime, so they initiated a case to investigate according to the Criminal Procedure Law," said Major Nguyen Phi Hai - Head of the Criminal Police Department.

Previously, at around 5 p.m. on October 26, while constructing a pole to pull telecommunication cables in the field bordering the two communes of Cam Lac and Cam Trung (Cam Xuyen district), 4 people in Cam Hung commune were electrocuted to death. The victims were all freelance workers, from difficult family circumstances, including 2 of them being siblings.
Ha Tinh Electricity Company issued a statement stating that the cause of the incident was due to the construction unit erecting a telecommunications cable pole under the 35 kV line without notifying the Electricity industry to implement safety measures, leading to a fatal electrocution.
