Prosecution of the case of "cheating on high school exam scores" in Hoa Binh

Likereported, yesterday afternoon (August 2), in a press conference, Mr. Nguyen Duc Luong - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh - said that through reviewing the test scoring, the Department discovered that there were issues that needed to be reported related to the multiple-choice test scoring stage. However, when the reporter asked a more specific question about the need to report this, Mr. Luong only said briefly: "If you do it and find it illogical, you must report it immediately."

Mr. Luong informed that the police are working with the entire test marking team of 5 people, including Mr. Nguyen Khac Tuan - specialist of the Examination and Education Quality Management Department, Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh; Mr. Do Manh Tuan - Vice Principal of Lac Thuy District Boarding Secondary and High School; Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - Head of the Examination and Education Quality Management Department, Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh.

Mr. Luong refused to provide the identities of the remaining two officials and said he was not aware of the complaint about Hoa Binh's exam grading process.

Currently, the police have stepped in to verify and investigate to clarify this abnormality.

“We are still waiting for the conclusion of the police. The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province is ready to cooperate to verify. If there are any violations, violators will be handled according to the law,” Mr. Luong said.

On the evening of the same day (August 2), reporterVietnamese Peoplecontacted the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh - Mr. Bui Trong Dac and was informed by Mr. Dac that, as of the afternoon of August 2, he had not received any information about exam score violations in the province's national high school exam.

Meanwhile, on the evening of August 2, Mr. Mai Van Trinh - Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training - confirmed that there were signs of exam score manipulation in Hoa Binh, specifically in the multiple-choice exam.

According to Mr. Trinh, the authorities are fighting with the suspect to clarify the case. Mr. Trinh affirmed that when there are results, they will soon be announced to the public.
