Prosecution of the case of the director's car being robbed and stopped in the middle of the night

Seven days after the incident of the director's car being robbed and burned in the middle of the night, Hau Giang Police have decided to prosecute the case.

The Investigation Police Agency of Hau Giang Province said it has initiated criminal proceedings against the "murder" and "property destruction" case that occurred on the night of October 4 on National Highway 61C, passing through Nhon Nghia A Commune, Chau Thanh A District, Hau Giang Province.

The 7-seat car was burned down.

According to the initial investigation, on the evening of October 4, Mr. Tran Van Ri and Ms. Vo Thi Chien (both residing in District 6, Ho Chi Minh City, director and deputy director of Kien Binh Production and Trading Company Limited, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) were sitting in a 7-seat car driven by driver Lai Van Trung from Can Tho to Vi Thanh.

At about 11pm, when the car arrived at the above location, a group of 2-3 motorbikes carrying 4-6 people came from behind and blocked the car.

The subjects used pepper spray in the faces of 3 people in the car. Ms. Chien was stabbed by one of the subjects and her handbag, which contained a lot of money, was robbed.

Then the subjects poured gasoline on the car and set it on fire.

All three people in the car, Mr. Tran Van Ri (74 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City), Mr. Lai Van Trung (35 years old, living in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) and Ms. Vo Thi Chien, were transferred to Can Tho Central General Hospital for emergency treatment in a state of severe burns.

The victims were then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital for treatment. However, after 7 days, Mr. Tran Van Ri died.

Ms. Vo Thi Chien and Mr. Lai Van Trung are still being treated at Cho Ray Hospital. The case is under further investigation./.
